Oh my God, my head is going to explode. Every single portion of the final episode of Game of Thrones season 5 ended in a cliffhanger. What happened to Stannis? What happened to Jon Snow? What becomes of Sansa Stark and Theon Greyjoy? What happened to Daenarys? What happened to Myrcella? Everybody looks like they're in grave peril, but no one is confirmed dead. This is maddening!
To make matters worse, the books can't help us at all, because the tv series is caught up with the books. Nobody knows what's in Winds of Winter. Probably the tv producers don't even know. For all we know, George R.R. Martin still doesn't know what's in the book, because he still hasn't decided how it will go next. In that case even God is sitting around waiting on a cliffhanger, because free will is preventing him from seeing what will happen next. This is maddening!
Meanwhile Square Enix's E3 showcase is tomorrow, and it's quite possible we'll be seeing a new Chrono Trigger and an FF7 remake for PS4 announced. Of course, just announcing a game isn't good enough, unless they actually release it at some point -- just look what happened to FF-13 Versus. But even having it announced would be a dream come true compared to all the denials up until this point. The fact that we have to wait a day before these rumors can be confirmed or denied is maddening!
Asuna was teased as being in her 'final form' for the next Alicization book, coming out this August. Does that mean the series is about to end? The Alicization arc could well end this next very book. It depends how easily our heroes manage to take out the dark zone baddies. But even if they aren't, if this is really the end of SAO as a whole that would be so sad. I wanted to see Kirito and Asuna marry. I wanted to see all the members of Laughing Coffin brought to justice. I wanted to see the new Aincrad cleared with all of Kirito's friends in a giant guild run. I feel like there's still so much more to see from SAO before it has to end. So for this to be Asuna's final form. . .it's just so sad. . . If this is the final arc of SAO then that's maddening!
Fairy Tail's 'dark continent' arc, straight out of Hunter x Hunter's rulebook, is satisfying in that the wizard saints are finally all being revealed. But this means all the loose threads are being pulled together, and I can't see Fairy Tail lasting beyond this arc plus one more concerning Zeref/Acnologia. But honestly, there's no reason for Zeref and Acnologia to have an entire arc dedicated to themselves. As single actors, it feels more like they could just be rolled into the action inside a larger arc, like, say, this one, and all be dealt with at once. Not knowing whether this is the final arc of Fairy Tail or not is maddening!
One Piece is on break again. Not knowing what will happen to Dressrosa is maddening!
Bleach's long drawn-out war with the Quincies is maddening!
Dragon Ball Kai is on cliffhanger mode. Buu has just been hit with the spirit bomb but he doesn't look like he's going to give up even so. Not knowing the result of this final clash of powers is maddening!
Grisaia no Rakuen is on cliffhanger mode. Yuuji has decided to storm an entire terrorist base on his own ala Spike from Cowboy Bebop. We all know how well that went for Spike. Worrying about Yuuji's fate is maddening!
Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works is on cliffhanger mode. The only two people fit to fight are Saber and Gilgamesh. Who will win? What will become of the entire world? Not knowing is maddening!
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is on cliffhanger mode. Dio and Jotaro are still fighting, with the results seemingly swinging in Dio's favor, even after everything Jotaro pulled to seize the advantage. Not knowing how Jotaro will escape this pinch and finally bring down Dio is maddening!
Will America even make it into the second round of the women's world cup? Not knowing is maddening!
What will become of Akatsuki no Yona's water tribe? Soo Won and Hak have just met for the first time since the coup -- will they end up fighting each other? Not knowing is maddening!
How will Sailor Moon cure her daughter of delinquent tendencies? Parenting a teenager before she's even born is maddening!
There are only three disks left of Ranma 1/2 blu ray still untranslated. Only 7 episodes inside those three disks are canon. Not being able to see the very last 7 episodes of the series is maddening!
Akame ga Kill seems to be approaching its final battle. The tension over how our heroes will win in the end against such overwhelming odds is maddening!
What on earth is going on with Salad? Surely she's Sakura's daughter? Surely Sasuke and Sakura got together in the end like the final chapters of the manga said, right? Not knowing is maddening!
The summer anime season is still so endlessly far away. All this waiting is maddening!
Finally, being stuck on volume 6.5 of Oreshura because the translation trails off when there are already nine volumes out is maddening!
