Madan no Ou to Vanadis managed to present the most boring battle imaginable. Rarely do you think in the middle of battle 'I wish something would happen,' or 'I wish there was any tension at all in this situation.' In just about every series with a fight, they manage to get your blood pumping with the hero at least taking some damage or suffering some sort of setbacks. In this story though it's just a one sided slaughter, and one of the worst animated one sided slaughters ever before seen. Furthermore, arrows don't punch through metal shields. That's as bad as Walkure Romanze's breast-hugging plate mail. Arrows just don't do that. That's stupid. Are they even trying?
In World Trigger, Osamu continued to be a complete idiot and jerk in all possible ways, ignoring people's advice and making bad decisions from beginning to end. Despite all of his mistakes, he still kept trying to tell other people what to do, arrogantly thinking he knew best when he was clearly way over his head. This loser should never have been chosen as the main character of a shonen battle series. He's so terrible. It's unbearable. The idea that I have to put up with this guy for the next two hundred chapters or whatever has put me into despair. Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei is a better series than this crap.
My new watch list has been shrunk down accordingly, and looks like this:
1. Sword Art Online II
2. Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works
3. Akatsuki no Yona
4. Shirobako
5. Akame ga Kill
6. Grisaia no Kajitsu
7. Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso
8. Sora no Method
9. Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru
10. Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu
11. Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai
12. Amagi Brilliant Park
13. Naruto
14. Dragon Ball Kai Buu
15. One Piece
16. Sailor Moon Crystal
17. Ushinawareta Mirai wo Motomete
18. Yama no Susume Second Season
19. Girlfriend (Kari)
20. Happiness Charge Pretty Cure
21. Nanatsu no Taizai
I'll probably end up dropping Nanatsu no Taizai as well eventually, but the rest of these series should survive as they're all looking pretty great so far. Dropping down to 20 shows was pretty much what I expected from the start. You can't win 'em all.
