Spring is Coming:

Scamp has his seasonal anime preview up:  http://thecartdriver.com/spring-2014-anime-season-preview/

This is a great resource for getting info about the shows to come, even though the opinions are generally suspect.  Based off of this preview, I'll be trying the first episodes of:

Riddle Story of Devil
Even so, The World is Beautiful
Chaika the Coffin Princess
Irregular at Magic High School
Nanana's Buried Treasure
Black Bullet
Brynhilder in the Darkness
Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara
Mekaku City Actors
One Week Friends
Atelier Escha & Logy:  Alchemists of the Dusk Sky
Is the order a rabbit?
No Game No Life
Dragonar Academy
Selector Infected Wixoss
Mangaka to Assistant to
Blade and Soul

I'll also be watching for sure the great anime sequels of:

Jojo's Stardust Crusaders
Fairy Tail 2
Love Live 2
Soul Eater Not
Dragonball Kai Buu Saga

This will join forces with the currently running:

Hunter x Hunter
Naruto
One Piece
Precure

If Naruto gets off its endless filler nonsense, that's 9 good series right off the bat, already higher than what I'm currently watching for this drought of a winter.  But I'm not stopping at 9 series this time.  I have huge hopes for Soredemo, Chaika, Mekaku, Mahouka, No Game No Life, and Atelier Escha.  It's almost unfathomable that I'll dislike any of these shows.  So that's 15 shows already.  Among the rest, maybe half of them will be appealing the long run.  So that would add six more, putting me at 21 shows, three times as much anime as I'm currently following.  This winter and this spring are like night and day.  It doesn't get any better than this.

Hitsugi no Chaika is by the same writer as Scrapped Princess and Outbreak Company, both of which I absolutely loved.  It looks beautiful.  What more need be said?

This season is going to knock the socks off the entire world.  This is what anime looks like when it reaches its full potential.  Don't forget the spring season will also include more oav's and movies from a variety of additional good series, like Little Busters Ecstasy, Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple, Madoka Magica, Doki Doki Precure Movie, Noucome, etc.  This season is an answer to all our prayers.  It has everything anyone ever wanted and more.

Now they just need to animate sequels to old series or totally new series like Kud Wafter, Rewrite, Full Metal Panic, Haruhi Suzumiya, Working, Ranma 1/2, PapaKiki, Maria-sama, Rurouni Kenshin, Baka to Test, Bleach, Claymore, Outbreak Company, Berserk, Kiniro Mosaic, Chihayafuru, Kitakubu, Baccano, Kimi ni Todoke, Spice and Wolf, Hataraku Maou-sama, Oreshura, H2, Tears to Tiara, Non Non Biyori, Noucome, Gakuen Alice, Negima, Da Capo III, Guyver, and The World God Only Knows.  Anime has a bad habit of not finishing what it starts, and I'd love it a lot more if it actually tried to tell its stories from start to finish.  Buu Kai shows that it can be done, so why not with all these other shows too?

There's always hope said sequels will be announced later.  For now, the coming tsunami of 20 good spring shows beckons.  Get hyped, the buzz is growing, spring is coming.
