'100 Waifus' by how attractive they came across in the book (not in their source works):

Previously I mentioned that it's hard to pin down who the main heroines of this story are.  Right when you think some stand out, they fade into the background and new girls take the fore, which was of course intentional on my part, as I wanted to convey how great living with 100 girls would be, not just 1 or 2 or 5.  Nevertheless, some girls left a stronger impression than others, and I ended up thinking back upon them more fondly.  This is like a character popularity poll they often do in Shonen Jump magazine for their manga, only I'm the only person being surveyed.

This is in regards to their impact within the book '100 Waifus,' and has nothing to do with how charming they are outside of the book, in their original source works.  It concerns only my ability to draw out their charm with my own authorial strength, and any lack of charm on their part is entirely my own fault.

Honestly this list risks *spoilers ahead* and people who haven't read the book yet probably shouldn't look at this list either, so that it doesn't bias you towards one girl or the other until you've tried them all out yourself.  But after 35 editions of the story and many years of the book being available, I doubt anyone will be spoiled by looking at this list now.  This list of course takes into account the newest chapter, chapter 58, and is based on the 35th edition of the book, not any previous version.

The list includes two other interesting factoids.  If there's an 'x' next to the name, that means there was an onscreen intimate moment between Christopher and that girl, showing how physical the relationships with the girls in the book were.  About 2/3 of the girls were visibly sullied within the story, while the other 1/3 got away from Chris's vile clutches. (I.e. all their love-love time occurred offscreen) (Though many of these girls did have some debatable close calls).  There is a correlation between how popular a girl is and how physical she got with Christopher, but it's not 1:1 at all.  Many of the more popular girls never exchanged a single kiss, and some of the least popular were smutted up, so there's obviously more going on towards attractiveness than skin.

Likewise, the popularity of these girls is correlated to how many spoken lines they received in the book, but it's not 1:1 either.  Some of the most popular girls only had a few lines, and some who received many lines were nevertheless in the bottom half.  It matters what you do with your time, not just how much you have.

The other interesting inclusion is how the daughters with speaking roles would measure up if allowed into this popularity contest.  They aren't given a real ranking but a hypothetical one in parenthesis.  Because much of Rinoa's content comes from her daughter Selphie's mouth, Rinoa really suffers from this rule because it basically divides her popularity in half.  A total of six daughters had speaking roles within the book.

Not included in this list are any male characters.  Only two males have speaking roles in this book, and one of them, Christopher, is so vastly more popular than the other, poor Zack (with one throwaway line), that there wouldn't be much point conducting a popularity poll among them.  This is very much a beauty contest where men are unwanted.

If I read the story for a 36th time I'm pretty sure this list would change, popularity is a very amorphous concept, but it would likely be similar to the list presented here.  There are some non-fickle factors involved.
