This was a fun manga and a long 77 chapters so far. It's based off of a prior light novel so doesn't qualify for hall of fame manga status. Well, it wouldn't have qualified anyway because it isn't that good. Basically a visual novel otaku (i.e. someone exactly like the readership audience) lucks out and saves a girl from being raped, who then falls for him. However he prefers VN heroines over real girls so he doesn't return her feelings. After that more and more girls fall for him but he doesn't return their feelings either. Instead he goes about solving their problems one after the other like some sort of hero.
I assume at some point he'll fall for the charm of real girls, but once he does the story would have to end because all the girls could no longer swarm over him like an ant hill over sugar. Until then I'll enjoy all the shenanigans.
Meanwhile, I improved my Beautiful Anime Girls permapost by including Lum's dance sequence from the Urusei Yatsura opening. In truth Lum deserves infinity pictures to bring out her charm, but the dance sequence is already sufficient to make my point that she's one of anime's finest.
I also updated '100 Waifus' to account for Kokona's advancing age. She started as a 13 year old but now that the manga is 22 volumes long she's already turned 15. She's always acted more mature than her age so it's good to include that more mature version of her in a way any casual reader could understand. Kokona has been a real treat in the latest season. Even though she's never the main character, she's so radiantly beautiful that she takes over every scene effortlessly. And last episode she did a little 'rain rain go away' song that made full use of Yui Ogura's voice and dear lord. . .
I'm still listening to my 1-star music, picking out the songs I dislike for eventual elimination (once I get my hands on something better). I'll probably finish things up tomorrow. As things stand there are around 60 songs singled out for elimination, so maybe there will be 70 by the end? Not so bad, not hundreds like I originally feared. But definitely something I need to fix before I can truly call this a music hall of fame. I replaced around 70 songs this year so if 2023 is as musically fruitful I could get this done in 2023.
France did crush Morocco as expected. No non-white team has ever reached the World Cup finals, much less won it. Morocco got as far as South Korea did many years ago but no further. This is another proof of white supremacy, France's many black players notwithstanding (black players on African teams don't perform nearly as well as the ones nurtured in Europe). But as one last nail in the coffin it sure would be nice if Argentina beat France.
Meanwhile, Tucker Carlson is claiming that the CIA killed JFK. I don't know or care who killed JFK, but anything that undermines the legitimacy of the US government is welcome. This is the same government that says Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and Joe Biden are innocent of any crimes, that men can become women just by thinking it so, that Ukraine's borders are sacrosanct even though nobody else's are, blacks and whites are equal, the Covid vaccine is safe and effective, that After School Satan Clubs must be legally permitted on school grounds and allowed to recruit kindergartners, etc., etc.
We need this government's legitimacy to be undermined. We need Americans to grow disgusted with the press which presents the government's word as holy writ and demand actual answers and accountability on all subjects, not just JFK. If we catch the government in one lie then all else becomes permissible to question. If Tucker has really caught them in that first lie, that exposed thread that can untangle the whole yarn, then God bless him. But he really needs more proof than 'some anonymous guy I talked to said so based on secret documents we can't see ourselves.' I hope he follows up on this reporting with something a little more ironclad.
