This is a Railgun novel featuring all 4 of the original Railgun protagonists (Mikoto, Kuroko, Uiharu and Saten) and Misaki each solving an 'incident' of some sort. Kuroko had to win a fight, Uiharu had to solve a crime involving evil massage chairs, Saten had to get pranked, and Mikoto/Misaki had to save the School Garden from becoming a sky island engaged in a French Revolution. ((Apparently these sorts of things happen commonly at Academy City.))
The best section was Saten because it was so lighthearted and believable. The only story that fell within the range of common sense. But overall it was a pretty good book, better than the average Index book at least.
Now that I've read all the Railgun books I felt confident promoting the author to 3rd in my light novelist rankings, ahead of Hai To Gensou no Grimgar's author. These Railgun novels add enough value to merit the switch.
Later today my copy of Tactics Ogre Reborn will arrive in the mail. Star Ocean 6 has not been compelling. I bought it so I'll beat it eventually, like I did the also-not-fun Live A Live, but it's a real dud. A disappointment for what had been such a great franchise. It lacks so many features that normal rpg's have had for decades now, like a minimap showing where your sidequest objectives can be found, or a pathfinder line to show you where to go to get to your next objective. The combat is impossible to control so not fun at all (battle results seem to come down to luck). The characters are dull and uninspired, like people you could find anywhere off the street. The most fun part of the game seems to be the go-like minigame, but that's a ridiculous way to spend your time. Why not just play go instead? The only praise I can give the game is the pretty girls in the cast, but many a throwaway manga and anime have managed that much. It's not enough.
Meanwhile, Zelensky launched a false flag missile attack on Poland, killing two innocent people, then attempted to frame Russia for it, which would have led to World War III and the nuclear obliteration of all life on Earth. Poland is a member of NATO, and an attack on one is an attack on all, necessitating a declaration of war on the aggressor. So, why haven't we declared war on Ukraine yet? Did they not just attack a NATO ally?
The lame excuse given, that Ukraine only hit Poland with missiles by accident, is impossible. There were no Russian missiles in the vicinity of Poland that the anti-air missiles could have been fired at, so there was no reason for those missiles to end up deep into Poland in the first place. No bizarre series of coincidences could have produced that result. Furthermore, Ukraine strenuously and immediately proclaimed it was a Russian missile and any other explanation was a conspiracy theory, which means they cut off by their own words any possibility that it was an accident. If Ukraine denies this happened accidentally, why on Earth should we believe it happened by accident? It was a false flag attack, Zelensky is a murderer, and anyone who supports Ukraine after this is equally a murderer of those two innocent Poles. They condone his attempt to start WWIII and the end of the world. I despise all Ukraine supporters. The heinous deeds they've done up until now should have been enough to show anyone who was in the right during this war, but after this, this coldblooded murder of two completely unrelated parties, and the immediate attempt to use their deaths to cause the nuclear annihilation of everyone on Earth, there is nothing more any sane person could say in their defense. Only nihilists and Satanic worshipers of evil for evil's sake could possibly side with Ukraine now.
