Poppin' Dream:

It's a BanG Dream! kind of week.  The long-awaited Poppin' Dream movie is available for download over at nyaa.si.  This is the last BanG Dream anime worth watching, the capstone to the franchise.  It was excellent as expected, focusing on the best band in the series, Poppin' Party, but with some scenes for my new favorites Morfonica and the lovable if not very musically talented Raise A Suilen.  As expected the movie was mainly about music, putting out song after song for listeners in the audience both fictional and real (we, the viewers got to hear the songs too).  There was also a fun sub-plot about working together to put on a good show despite an unfortunate injury that mucked things up.  And also some simple comedy about how scary airplanes are, how hard it is to navigate an English-language Guam while only knowing a smattering of English, etc.  Come to think of it there were also swimsuit scenes showing off Poppin' Party in all their CG glory.  A feel good movie all around that feels too short, I wish it could have continued forever.

I don't know if they'll ever announce a continuation of BanG Dream.  Maybe a season focused on Pastel Pallettes or something.  That would be fun.  I guess it depends on how popular the series is.  If it's Love Live! popular I guess it will never end.  But this is good enough.  I'm satisfied.  They're lovely girls with lovely songs and a must-see anime as is.  Kasumi is a real star, just like she likes to keep singing about them.

I also hope a third season of Shadows House will be announced.  It's obvious the rest of the season will be about Maryrose and there won't be enough time for the main characters to remember their memories of human village life, which is actually the best part of the story.  We'll need a third season to get to what I want to see.  I'm sure this too will depend entirely on the popularity of the currently airing season.  Unfortunately nothing much happens this season so I doubt it will be that popular.  So frustrating.

At least now football season is underway.  We won't need to lean so heavily on anime or video games anymore, American tv has plenty of its own material.
