Chihayafuru reaches its long-awaited ending:

There's some sort of bonus chapter planned in November but it doesn't matter, this chapter ties up all the loose ends surrounding the main characters.  The previous chapter completed the sports match, so this chapter was meant entirely for romance, and it paid off.  Chihaya suddenly waxes sentimental upon graduation and confesses her love to Taichi who is about to leave for Kyoto.  Apparently the prospect of not having him around in her life was enough of an impetus to change her mind about how important his presence was.  Since I always thought Taichi was the better man and partner for Chihaya than Arata I'm glad.  I'm also glad they didn't take the 'asexual' route where all Chihaya does is think about playing the next round of Karata.  Ultimately Karata is just a game and marriage and children are what matter in life.  Chihaya finally got her priorities right.

I also like the losers of the tournament still had plenty of fans and friends/family to support them.  This isn't a winner takes all world, if you're extremely good at something, even if you lose a match sometimes, you're still an admirable person.  Not even Tom Brady wins every Super Bowl.

I don't really care about the FBI raid on Trump's house.  I assume Trump is such a careless idiot that he did in fact violate all sorts of laws.  Trump is a geezer, a loser, an insurrectionist who refused to accept the results of an election and peaceably transfer power as has been America's 200 year tradition, a twice-divorced fat slob, and now a criminal.  If this disqualifies him from running again (and of course losing again because by now everyone in America is sick of Trump), then God bless Merrick Garland.  I want DeSantis to be the Republican nominee in 2024.
