For some weird reason this was the only spinoff that wasn't fully scanlated, all the rest of Fairy Tail was admirably covered, but this one missing jigsaw piece was really annoying. I'd given up on the series but it turns out nyaa.si did have one heroic individual who finally translated/released the remaining volumes. Now we can all see the ending to this final spinoff series and focus our hearts entirely on the ongoing 100 Years Quest.
Lacking 99% of the Fairy Tail cast, I can't give much praise for this spinoff, but it's still Fairy Tail which is good enough. Fairy Tail is one of my favorite franchises of all time so basically anything goes.
I think 2021 will actually surpass 20 great anime entries, so long as the BanG Dream! movies and the like come out within the year. But it's still a pathetic amount and it's still almost entirely made up of short movies/oavs even if this occurs. It's not the exact number 20 that matters, but the overall downward trend.
Likewise, I'm sure 2022 will surpass 10 entries -- we already know for sure there will be Precure, One Piece, Girls und Panzer, Princess Principal, BanG Dream, Fate/etc, Love Live! Nijigasaki, SAO, Macross and Shingeki. But again this is almost all movies/oavs. Very little to sink your teeth into. It seems like the whole industry is giving up on long tv series and sticking exclusively to movies, which really doesn't produce much content. So 2022 isn't as bad as my pessimistic humor would make it out to be, but the downward trend is still the same. It's the trend that matters. Something needs to reverse this trend. It sure would help if Bleach and Utawarerumono's new seasons were given actual release dates. . .
