Hoho, I read both books within a single day. That goes to show my devotion to this series and Lafiel in particular. Volume 6 is much better than volume 5, in that the Empire is on the attack and Lafiel is the commander. This means positive things are happening due to Lafiel's decisions. The bare bones elements to what makes a story click.
There's still a very long staging period before the battles begin, but oh well. That's an acceptable cost to glorious victory and the dissolution of the People's Sovereign Stellar Union. My bigger complaint is not knowing the intentions of the Emperor or Vice Emperor, who actually get to decide where Lafiel goes and who her fleet hunts. There are still plenty of enemies left on the map, so there's no telling what will happen next.
Like I predicted everything ends on a cliffhanger. Even Jinto and Lafiel's romance is going nowhere as he swiftly reaches middle age still a virgin. Lafiel is too busy aspiring to become Empress and win the galactic war so it just sits on the backburner. At least they still get along swimmingly.
It's been 3 years since volume 6 was published in Japan. I doubt there will ever be a volume 7, but if there is it will probably be seven years from now. ::rolls eyes:: Like Final Fantasy 7 Remake everything I care about is impossible to finish. Not even a lifetime is enough time for these people.
