'In Another World With 100 Waifus' read and edited for the 26th time:

The story of this re-read begins with the Texas-wide winter storm and power outage.  My Kindle was my only companion during those dark days, which meant reading '100 Waifus' off of its battery-powered screen was my only entertainment.

That got me a ways into the book, but then the power came back on.  I set aside the story and went back to normal fun activities.

But then I kept changing a name here, a name there, editing this, and that, and soon enough '100 Waifus' looked very different than it had during my 25th re-read.  Since my 26th re-read was already half done, it made sense to read it the rest of the way and make sure everything looked good and orderly while I was at it.  How had all my edits done?

Well the answer is I still found a lot of mistakes to correct.  Some sentences were obsolete given the recent edits and needed to be deleted.  Other names were better off changed or moved.  The worst was the Rurouni Kenshin names.  For some reason I had used their last names instead of their first names like I did for every other child in my fictional character hall of fame.  Now that is fixed and they're properly referred to as Shinta, Hajime, Sannosuke, etc.

Most of the edits concerned the names, like always, but I did take the opportunity to correct some awkward phrasing and polish things up wherever else I could.  The end result was the best version of the story ever.

My child names are now inspired.  There's only a few I even want to replace, mostly from the Tales franchise.  From the first generation to the tenth they're all equally great.  There's no dropoff in quality at any time.

My plan is to keep re-reading this story until I can read it from start to finish without having to edit or proofread anything.  Only then is my work done.  I had to change a lot this time so obviously this isn't my last readthrough.  A 27th will be required at some point, hopefully after I've played Tales of Arise and replaced the last inadequate names with a completely bulletproof gallery.  For now I'm content with a job well done.

This time as well the sexy portions were still as impactful as ever, the confessions were still as heartwarming as ever, the wit was still witty and every waifu got a moment to shine, fulfilling the inherent promise of the title.  For the 26th time I was re-convinced that this was the best book ever written.  If anyone wants to dispute that all they have to do is read some other book 27 times and then tell me they liked it more.

For anyone who hasn't read this story yet, or read it long ago, liked it back then, and could take advantage of the massive edits over the years, I'll provide a link so you can dive right in:

Now that this task is finished I can get back to Xenoblade 2 and anime.  I've finished my rewatch of Shingeki no Kyojin Final and I think I figured out why Eren and Zeke didn't do the 'partial rumbling' when they met in Marley.  Zeke doesn't trust Eren at that time.  Since once they touch, Eren will be in control of what happens, Zeke wanted proof that Eren was going to do what Zeke wanted him to do, the euthanasia plan, not a rumbling on its own or something.  Eren turning on his countrymen and even his best friends is the proof Zeke was looking for that Eren is willing to euthanize them.  Everything Eren is doing is an elaborate deception to get Zeke to let down his guard and give Eren full access to the powers of the founding titan.  It's frustrating that it's taking over an entire season for this farce to play out, but at least it makes logical sense.

With Shingeki rewatched I can now turn to Uma Musume S2, a season so good it polevaulted the series as a whole to 36th in my rankings.  I suspect it will be much easier and more fun to watch than Shingeki's confusing mess was.
