SAOAGGO volume 8 read:

Two books in two days, not bad.  This volume had a lot of action sequences, but it was somehow limp and insipid.  It felt like things favored the heroes too much and God was intervening on their side.  Well, I guess every tourney winner can cite a few lucky breaks that went their way, and every story about winners will be extremely fortunate.

To make matters worse, though, the entire book went by and no one died.  This in a battle royale.  How do you write an entire book in a battle royale and end up precisely where you started?  The book may as well have never happened.

I guess all the exciting events are slated for next volume, so I'll wait around expectantly for that one.  I'm glad I didn't waste money on this volume though.

Nobuo Uematsu is composing for a new game called Fantasian.  I'm sure it'll be great like all the other soundtracks, whenever it comes out.  I'd kind of like to finish my 100 song listening project before dumping tons of new songs into the mix though.  Maybe I'll worry about all these new soundtracks next year.

There may never be subtitles for the Shirobako movie.  *sigh*  In that case, the next thing to look forward to is March Madness.  March Madness starts earlier than you think, because of all the conference tourneys that guarantee automatic invites.  Those are as much part of the tourney as the official portion.  Until then I'll have to stick to Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition.

The blu-ray release of Precure Miracle Leap came out yesterday, so I watched it and it was very pretty, a nice upgrade from the web release I'd previously been using.  I can't praise Pretty Cure enough.  #1 is a suitable ranking.  With so many episodes and so many movies how can anyone else compete?
