Healin' Good Precure watched and rewatched:

The last episode of Healin' Good Precure came out today, and conveniently my rewatch was caught up to this point as well, so I both watched and rewatched the whole series on the same day.  This was another solid season of Pretty Cure that put it back on track after the awful Huggto/Kira Kira days.

I have high hopes for Tropical Rouge but I won't instantly count the season as great because of how bad Huggto was.  I don't want to get burned again.  Pretty Cure is usually great but not always.

I'm tired of being lectured on how much I'm polluting when I barely pollute at all.  This episode yet again was telling me to stop hurting the Earth when all I'm doing is the bare minimum to stay alive and haven't even reproduced.  (so actually I'm below the bare minimum to stay alive in the real sense of the word.)  I drive my car less than 1,000 miles a year.  I haven't flown in a plane in ten years.  Maybe these words should be directed against the Africans and Muslims having seven kids each or the Chinese manufacturers polluting their own air to unbreathibility.  What do I have to do with any of this?

The fact is humans are more interesting and beautiful than plants and animals so if I have to choose between them I'll always choose humans.  I'll always choose myself.  Rather than lectures, if you want to save plants and animals, invent a way for all humans to live in comfort and plenty while still retaining plants and animals.  I'll gladly accept a world like that.  Elon Musk's spaceflight could achieve that, so why not invest in him?  Or why not MIT's new fusion power project?  Or nuke Africa.  I certainly wouldn't mind sacrificing them for the noble cause of environmentalism.

Oh well, it's just a gripe with a single episode of an otherwise great season.  Here's to many more seasons of Precure, the #1 anime of all time.  Yet again I fulfilled my promise to rewatch anything I counted as great.

Vikings only had one really touching episode, when Bjorn almost singlehandedly repulsed a Rus invasion of his homeland through sheer grit.  I always cry for people who try harder than human endurance and prevail.  I'm a sucker for that.  The rest of the series was mainly about sluts and murderers, something I really can't endorse as 'must-see tv.'  At least it's another project done.

I rewatched Clear and Present Danger and sure enough it deserves its spot in my great movies hall of fame.  I also watched Downfall and it was merely okay.  The best parts were whenever Hitler went into furious tirades.

This free Amazon Prime trial account has given me access to countless tv series and movies but I've still yet to find anything new that's better than what I'd seen and rated before.  It's a shame but the expected result.  Classics don't rain down from the sky to the point that I haven't even heard of them before.  At least the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie is sure to be great.  I might get an HBO Max account just for that.
