Yamada Elf's Love Cooking Finished:

This is a sweet, short spinoff 'what if' manga featuring Elf Yamada somehow winning over Masamune and becoming his bride.  I don't accept this as canon because Masamune's feelings for Sagiri aren't so light that they could ever be swayed away to someone else, but I am kind of fond of the series anyway because Elf Yamada is also featured as one of Christopher's waifus in '100 Waifus.'  Clearly '100 Waifus' isn't alone in wanting to see this pairing.

Of course what they should have done is enter a polygamous marriage so that Masamune's feelings for Sagiri aren't shunted aside -- which is exactly what happens in '100 Waifus' and the correct route.  But for some reason the west censors polygamy as the obvious solution to romantic entanglements and insists on hurting some innocent left out girl.  Does the west just hate girls or something?  (Japan's ethics have been thoroughly westernized so yes, censorship in Japan is the product of western censorship).

For thousands of years polygamy was standard in the East and no one thought twice about it.  It was never considered impossible for a boy to love two different girls and take care of both of them throughout Japan's entire history, until the Meiji Restoration saw America dictating terms to them.  America has ruined everything everywhere.

There isn't much time for Elf Yamada in the main series (where she's just a side character and most definitely not Masamune's lover) or in '100 Waifus' (where she's practically invisible, one of the problems with having 100 wives instead of 1 or 2 or 5), so this manga is perfect for getting to spend a well deserved honeymoon with her.

It's all over now, one less manga to brighten our days.  (Manga seem to always be ending and never starting).  As a light novel spinoff it doesn't qualify to even compete in my top manga rankings, but I'll always honor its memory either way.  If you haven't realized the charms of one of the top 100 most charming fictional characters in history now is the best time to dive in and see it all in full.
