Battle for Azeroth Flight Attained:

It's hard to say when you've 'beaten' a MMORPG.  There's always more to do, that's sort of the point.  I guess you could say once you've beaten the toughest raid in the game -- but most of the people who do that would probably say that's not true, it's only once you have all the best gear in the game and have gotten as strong as humanly possible.

My endpoint is once I've leveled all my characters to max -- but along the way getting flight is just as important a landmark.  It means you've cleared every goal and zone WoW asks of you in full.  Essentially, for at least one of my characters, I've already won.

The double reputation and double experience bonus WoW offered in response to covid-19 was a godsend.  Without it I don't know if I'd have had the gumption.  It turned endless long grinds into things you could do in a couple days.  This was never a good expansion so my patience easily wears thin without these sorts of incentives.

I have a lot of alts, so I doubt I'll actually get all their levels to max before the next expansion, but I'm making steady progress.  So long as the double experience bonus lasts the progress will be fast.

Because the quests and zones are boring, I'm mostly leveling in unorthodox manners, like by gathering herbs and minerals.  It's a cute workaround, but it does mean my gear compared to my enemies steadily gets worse until max level where I can get my hands on a nice set of benthic gear.  Oh well, the outside world is easy enough that handicaps like these might actually make the combat more fun.

The outside world is at a standstill, but with the double rep/exp bonus going, WoW is in turbo mode.  May as well live in WoW for now.
