Well, it was nice while it lasted. The manga is now fully written and translated. A short story in the end.
Meanwhile, Shirobako's movie date has been set -- spring 2020. That likely means 2021 for the rest of us outside of Japan. It feels like a movie of everything is slated to air in 2020, even Evangelion, which means a movie of everything will be available to fans via the internet in 2021. This year long delay of all good things is annoying, but in a sense it changes nothing. The same number of movies become available for watching in America as they do in Japan each year, it's only shifted one year to the past. The only time the delay becomes an issue is if you're about to die of terminal illness, at which point you should just get on a plane to Japan and watch the movies in theater, trusting your luck to your understanding of Japanese, at whatever level that may be.
Most information is imparted via tone anyway. The voice acting says all you need to hear.
'I Said Make my abilities average' has been slated for fall 2019. The fall season is going to be amazing.
I added 'global warming is a hoax' as a see also link to my 'refuting liberal arguments' permapost. It was a good enough article to be deserving of immortalization.
One Pace released its third reverie episode, reducing the length of One Piece by another three episodes overall. Keep it coming. Hopefully they can finish editing some other arcs while they're at it. There's virtually no section of One Piece that couldn't be improved via paring down.
Once Vinland Saga comes out in a few days, I'll replace 12 Kingdoms in my great anime rankings with it, which will result in another overall reduction in great anime length. (Vinland Saga is slated to be 24 episodes in length, whereas 12 Kingdoms was 42 episodes). I can't catch a break. At this rate I'll never reach 9,000.
12 Kingdoms was a great story, but the anime totally ruined it via the inclusion of two fake characters who don't even exist in the original novels. These characters then take up half the anime and distort everything around them via their phony-ness. I've never seen anything like it. They're not even side characters. They're fake main characters. It's unbelievable. Imagine if Naruto, instead of being paired with Sasuke and Sakura, had been paired with Tweedledee and Tweedledum, because the animators thought it would be funnier that way. That's what they did to Yohko in 12 Kingdoms.
I can't wait to kick this series out of my rankings. A story this mangled is hardly must-see. More like must-avoid. Instead people should just read the original light novels which are excellent.
