Amazon.com has 'Fairy Tail Side Stories volume 3', known in Japan as Raigo Issen, available for purchase in English. It sure took long enough. I think this came out two years ago in Japan. But better late than never. This was the final remaining Fairy Tail spinoff manga that hadn't been translated. Now we in the West are finally caught up with Fairy Tail.
Except now there's a bunch of new Fairy Tail sequels and spinoffs, so who knows where it will really end. But THIS spinoff is based off of a story written by Hiro Mashima, so it's genuinely vital reading, unlike Fairy Tail Police Detectives or whatever.
Fairy Tail's latest season has been amazing, as expected of the #2 best ever anime of all time. SAO: Alicization has been equally thrilling, as expected of the #1. Every Saturday is a gift from heaven. The best part is knowing that for the entirety of 2019 both of these shows will still be airing. But precisely because the Fairy Tail anime is focused on the main line story, and precisely because Fairy Tail is the 2nd best story ever told, this manga is a must-buy and must-read. Why would you neglect the second best story on Earth, however insignificant a portion thereof?
Every addition to the canon is priceless.
Meanwhile, I finished Index NT volume 21 immediately upon its being fully translated. The epilogue was no better than the rest. Maybe volume 22 will be worthwhile? There's always hope. . .
