Trump starts 2026 with a bang:

Hot on the heels of the west sanctioning/condoning/permitting/helping Ukraine to attempt to assassinate Putin and then burn women and children celebrating the New Year alive, Trump has decided to one-up this by starting a war of aggression, considered the worst war crime as established by the Nuremburg court that we ourselves created.

Venezuela has never done anything to America in its entire history.  They are completely innocent.  There can be no self-defense rationale for bombing them, nor can we be bombing them in self-defense of anyone else, because Venezuela isn't attacking and hasn't attacked anyone else either.

This is the first time in American history we started bombing someone who had shown zero hostility to anyone.  It is a new low in American history.

Always before we at least had the pretext of protecting someone, anyone, during every single war.  Always before the shooting had already started before we intervened -- in Vietnam, Korea, Kuwait, Syria, Yemen, Serbia, World War I, World War II, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, the Mexican War, the Barbary Pirates, the War of 1812.  Every single war before now, we could point to the other side killing somebody or blowing something up, like the battleship Maine.  Even with Iran we could always point to the embassy being attacked first.  The same with Libya, they did some disco bombing or something first.  So we could always claim we were settling old grudges.

Our continuous war with the Indians was necessitated by their constant raids on civilians living on the frontier.  We tried peaceful coexistence over and over again with the various tribes and virtually all of them betrayed us and staged a sneak attack.  Their savage methods of rape, kidnapping, torture, mutilation, cannibalism and mass murder made coexistence all the more impossible.  Perhaps one or two tribes we attacked first who had done nothing to us, but it's hard to distinguish one Indian tribe from another and by then we were probably sick of waiting to be hit first.

We toppled communist governments as part of the Cold War, like in Grenada, but the USSR started the Cold War by trying to conquer the entire world, so that could still be seen as self-defense against USSR aggression.

America has ingeniously schemed in the past to provoke enemies into attacking us first, like with the Lusitania and Pearl Harbor.  We've done everything short of firing first so as to rouse an intended reaction, like how we patrolled with troops in disputed territory to start the Mexican War, or wouldn't evacuate Fort Sumter when politely asked.  But this is the first time in our 250 year history we just started bombing another country because we didn't like them.

I don't even know what the pretext for this war will be.  It's impossible to believe anyone in the world will swallow our lies or go along with them this time.  Having a few drug gangs in a country has never permitted anyone to go ahead and bomb the parliament of that country.  It's absurd.  There are drug gangs in America too.  Does that mean Canada can bomb the White House?

Governments have seized property that's already on their own soil before all the time.  We've seized Russian property without compensation on our soil.  If that's an act of war then virtually everyone on Earth should be bombing America right now.  Clearly we don't think that's an act of war.  Furthermore, we're talking about something Venezuela did 20 or 50 years ago.  The statute of limitations is long past on that matter regardless.  You can't revive a random grudge from generations ago and claim the other side is the aggressor, if that logic were permitted Russia could suddenly nuke Germany and no one could complain.  The principle is on the face of it absurd.

I have to assume Trump will invent some third argument for why he's bombing Venezuela, since the current ones are too ridiculous for anyone to swallow.  What will it be?  Venezuela was secretly developing nukes?  Bio-weapons?  Chemical weapons?  Was it conspiring with space aliens to secretly take over the world?  There has to be something, right?  We wouldn't attack a country for no reason, right?

To make the situation all the more despicable, because the USA has a security council veto, we won't even be condemned by the UN.  I doubt even the UN General Assembly will condemn us, since they're afraid of being next on our kill list and sparking our wrath.  So the 'rules-based order' we were so concerned with protecting will be slaughtered without a single whimper of protest by all those countries which were so quick to condemn Russia's 'brutal and unprovoked' act of aggression.

Does it need to be any clearer how hypocritical the west is?  Can it be made any clearer than this?  What would it take to convince people the West is hypocritical if bombing Venezuela isn't enough?  Can we now all agree that the West in general is the aggressor and nations like Iran, Venezuela, China and Russia are all victims of our lawlessness?  Can we now all see that all nations of the world need to unite in order to overcome the evil alliance of America, Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and Taiwan which continuously goes around bombing and sanctioning everyone for no reason?  Can we now look back on the past 50 years of history and realize 'oh, America was the evildoer all along.'?  Is that so hard to grasp, now that Trump has made it so very clear?  Could it be made any clearer than this?

I don't think Maduro's reign has been good for Venezuela, and I don't think he honestly won the previous election.  But that doesn't justify America butting in.  That principle would lead to utter chaos.  Can you imagine?  If every nation had the right to start a war to regime change any other nation's ruler they considered ineffectual or illegitimate?  It would be a war of all against all for eternity.  There must be rules determining when intervention is justified, and that rule has always been 'in self-defense or defense of another.'  Misrule has never been a justification for war.  If we open that Pandora's Box humanity would shortly go extinct as everyone could claim to be justified in everything they did from that moment on.

There really was a rules-based order up until now, and that rule was 'don't wage aggressive war.'  Russia, as the world largely understands now, was fighting in self-defense of the people of Donbass who Ukraine was continuously shelling for 8 years straight.  Russia didn't violate the rules-based order.  Only Trump has.  So let's see if all those gallant defenders of the 'rules-based order' condemn Trump today.  Where is Macron?  Starmer?  Merz?  Carney?  That new Japanese chick who was so eager to defend Taiwan from aggression?  Will she condemn Trump today?  Does anyone want to take a bet?

The rules-based order cannot be 'America rules the world.'  No one signed up for this.  The free world, the world not under American domination, must reject this principle, if there's any hope of freedom for the rest of humanity's future.  Honestly they should have united before now.  If they had declared Venezuela under their nuclear umbrella Trump never would have dared start this war.  But at least now that America has fully exposed itself to be a rogue state, the free world must unite with a pact of mutual defense of everybody other than Venezuela.  There must be a red line stating that America and its allies will never be allowed to bomb anyone without reprisal again.  That it can no longer seize anyone's ships.  That anything it does will lead to immediate nuclear fire.  This is the only way to deter a bully.  If you don't punish aggressors, if their aggression is rewarded, they'll just keep doing it.  As Attila the Hun explained to the Roman consul who asked Attila how far he intended to conquer -- 'until someone stops me.'  That is the only logic the aggressor understands.  A man-eating tiger won't stop eating men with pretty words or delicate pleas either.  It understands only one thing.  America has now taken off its sheep's clothes and fully exposed itself to be a rabid warmongering monster.  Can we now treat America the way it's always deserved to be treated?  Now that it's been made clear?  Now that there can be no further doubt?  Please?
