There was no new event this time in Heaven Burns Red, but two new extremely attractive SS Memorias were unveiled -- bunny Tsukasa and streetwear Yingxia. Yingxia is wearing some kind of vest that bares a heart-shaped portion of her cleavage, and bunny Tsukasa has all the cleavage you could ever dream of. I rolled for them lots and lots but no luck. And the guaranteed SS Memorias I got were all random and useless -- base Monika, white shirt Megumi (which gets her to limit break 1), and base Hisame (which gets her to limit break 2). I already have pajamas Hisame at limit break 4 so base Hisame is uselessly weaker. Conceivably, if I get base Hisame to limit break 4, that would power up all the other Hisame Memorias, so it would be worthwhile in the long run. In the very long run. If the game doesn't end before then. . .
I also decided to try white shirt Megumi in my light squad once more, now that she has a limit break and the inspiring spark ability that gives her +1 sp per turn. She replaces Tuxedo Karen who doesn't have a limit break but is otherwise much better than white shirt Megumi.
My dark squad aced the score challenge this time, getting over 600k against the weak-to-dark boss. I got Karen's reversions up to +5, which gives her a small power boost and an extra skill slot. It seems odd to be taking Karen out of squads at the same time I'm powering her up but oh well. Karen's still in my fire and dark squad.
Swimsuit Megumi has maximized her skills and fox Miya is now limit break level 4 (thanks to the Protean shards I purchased). While the rolls didn't go in my favor, the $120 did at least give me the shards I needed to strengthen my thunder squad. On paper my thunder squad should be really strong now, but it still can't even beat the flathand Anachrony. Of course, fox Miya hasn't actually gained the 10 new levels by reaching her max limit break, all she did is break the level cap, which lets me gain the levels moving forward. Maybe things will be different once she's maximized her potential.
Tomorrow I'll have the protean shards necessary to limit break ninja Mari up to her level 4 maximum.
More importantly, tomorrow will also feature the release of The Red Wheel volume 7. Solzhenitsyn wrote 8 volumes before dying, long before the project/story/history was finished. The English translation is now almost caught up with the Russian. Solzhenitsyn's Red Wheel series is the best work of nonfiction ever, so this release almost singlehandedly justifies the entire year. It would be nice if in heaven, Solzhenitsyn was allowed to finish his work, and everyone who gets to heaven is allowed to read the rest of it. I think that would be fair to all involved.
