Spring 2022 Anime First Impressions:

Murabito A Tensei:  The world is nonsensical and the characters are unappealing.  Fail.

RPG Real Estate:  The focus is too far on slapstick humor and ecchi fanservice.  Fail.

Gunjou no Fanfare:  Fujoshi content, overly artsy for no good reason.  Fail.

Healer Girl:  A musical?  Well, music is always good.  Pass.

Shoukei Shoujo:  I can't say much about this series since there was a sudden plot twist in the first episode.  The real story I assume starts later.  Pass.

Otomege Kibishii:  The first episode was funny and the main character male is really likable.  The setting isn't very encouraging so I don't know how far the plot can go with the initial premise but for a first impression it's fine.  Pass.

Kono Healer, Mendokusai:  I couldn't get through the episode.  The healer was too annoying.  Fail.

Yuusha, Yamemasu:  I don't think people discriminate against, fear or ostracize those with great power but have done nothing but good with it (like, say, save the world by defeating a demon king.)  It's just not an actual issue in the human psyche.  We revere heroes and saviors.  It's recorded all through history how we felt towards the likes of, say, Guan Yu.  We actually started worshiping him as a god.  So the initial premise of this story is stupid and annoying, just like the initial premise of a person receiving a heart transplant also getting the transplanted 'soul' of the initial heart bearer.  It's just unscientific and wrong.  Fail.

Spy x Family:  This is a popular and highly anticipated show and it delivered in spades.  Combining the heartwarming bachelor adopting a child story of Usagi Drop with the spy action of Princess Principal.  I liked every second of this show.  It felt down to earth and over the top at the same time.  I could see this replacing Usagi Drop in my top anime rankings if it stays this good.  A sort of strictly superior upgrade of the same overall story.  Pass.

There might have been other failed shows but if so I forgot them already.  Thus concludes my spring anime impressions.  In the order of how much I'm looking forward to each episode of the spring season as they come out, it looks like this:

1.  Love Live! Nijigasaki S2
2.  Honzuki no Gekokujo S3
3.  Cue!
4.  Shenmue the Animation
5.  Spy x Family
6.  Tate no Yuusha S2
7.  Shoukei Shoujo
8.  Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu
9.  Healer Girl
10.  Kaginado

It would help if Toei started releasing new episodes of Dragon Quest and Precure again.  Damn whoever hacked them and stalled their schedule.
