Silver Ruins, Black Moon book III mostly read:

Slowly but surely, the translation of the ending to 12 Kingdoms is coming along.  There are four books in all, and we're most of the way through book 3 now.  Eugene Woodbury is doing a great job, but it's been years of waiting and we're still not done.  With nothing to read currently, I checked in and read all the progress since last time I checked in.  It's still not enough, there's another chapter or so before the end of book 3, but it's a sizable chunk of plot progress.

The Kirin of Tai has made some political progress, getting Asen out of his stupor of neglect, defeating the youma that were sucking out everyone's souls, appointing decent officials to various positions.  Meanwhile the search for Gyousou remains futile but at least an army of revolutionaries has been assembled and is waiting for his signal to retake the throne from Asen.  Humorously, right when it looks like Asen might become a decent ruler after all will be the time of his overthrow.  No good deed goes unpunished I guess.  I guess my point is the plot progress on these two different fronts are at counterpurposes to one another.

I also finished rewatching Basilisk and crying all through the last episode yet again, like I do every other time I watch Basilisk.  What a perfect ending to a perfect story.  The laserbeam tight focus of the plot, concentrating solely on the fight between the Iga and Kouga and nothing else, is so pristine and beautiful.  No one is trying to make a point about racism, sexism or homophobia in this series.  It's a story about 1500's Japan, not modernity, and treats the characters accordingly.  They think like they're in 1500's Japan and act like they're in 1500's Japan.  Such a better age where men were men and women were women.

Soon I'll have listened to all my new music 100 times, after which I can assign them a fair rating.  My musical house will be in order until Xenoblade Chronicles 3 blows it all up again.
