Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village arc green-lit:

This next arc is the weakest segment of Kimetsu, except I guess the training chapters that occur after it.  But you've got to do training if you want to be strong enough to take on the tougher enemies, so I don't mind training arcs.  I'd be more frustrated if people could suddenly win fights without any training.

The weakest Kimetsu arc is still much better than most other people's strongest, though, so of course I'm looking forward to it.  And it isn't just the manga that's great.  The voice acting for this show is so incredible.  I know a lot of these voice actors and they've always been great but their performance in this specific show is beyond great.  They've outdone themselves delivering these lines and making them so emotional and memorable as a result.  Tanjiro's Natsuki Hanae of course, but Miyuki Sawashiro's Daki wouldn't let me stop crying.  For the villain!  It wasn't even a hero dying!

Then add on to that Aimer performing music well beyond her average in quality (LiSA and Go Shiina too for that matter, everyone rises higher when working on Kimetsu), and Ufotable animating at the highest level I've ever seen, and the manga is truly in good hands.  Like, Hibike! Euphonium is still the best drawn series ever, but if you want lots of stuff moving around but still completely detailed every frame?  That's Ufotable alone.  No one else can pull off the fight they just showed this arc.

There's pretty much no conceivable reason a company would announce the Swordsmith arc but not go ahead and complete the series by animating the ending arc that occurs right after Swordsmith.  Combine that with the tremendous popularity and sales of this series and I'm going to treat Kimetsu as being announced as fully animated.  It's just a matter of time.  Obviously animating at such a high level takes a lot of time, so I'm okay with them taking as long as it takes.  So long as we get to see the best ending in manga transferred onto the screen.

Princess Principal Crown Handler 2 came out today, and it also looked brilliant.  It had a great plot where Ange had to rescue Charlotte from a ticking bomb, which always brings out the most ferocious determination in Ange.  It's sort of sad that a movie, with a movie budget for animation, still falls short of how good Kimetsu's regular tv episodes are.  >.<.

The Olympics have been as fun as I advertised them to be with still plenty more to go.  Russia's medal count is still well above the USA's, so my point still stands.  And the Super Bowl is later today.  It really has been a tremendously fun month.  It doesn't get any better than this.
