Sounan desu ka? volumes 7 & 8 available:

When mangakakalot doesn't post chapters, sometimes they can be found scanlated at nyaa.si.  It's important to take any means necessary to get at new good manga chapters, especially when we're talking about two volumes worth of them like this time.

Sounan desu ka? is one of those manga that is almost great but not quite.  Maybe once I've seen the ending I'll upgrade it. . .

Meanwhile, I did two things to improve my music hall of fame.  First, I switched out Zophar's Arrival, a 5-star song, for the 4-star song Old Smudged Map.  Next, I finished listening to my two new Aimer songs 100 times, making them permanent members of my hall of fame like everybody else.

Then I decided to use the same process that eliminates 1-star songs to quickly get ratings more accurate, so that the new songs could be rated correctly instead of stuck forever as 1-star just because they are new.  The method is simple.  First I listen carefully to the new recruits who have gone through the 100-listening process and give them a fair rating.  In this case, I gave all 4 of my new recruits a 4-star rating -- One and Last, Yuriha, Zankyosanka and Asa ga kuru.  Then to make room for the new 4-stars, I demoted the longest 4-star songs to 3-star, on the reasoning that it took so much more time to become just as good as much shorter songs, so overall the songs must be the worst of the category.  Of course this meant the 3-star category was now overloaded, so I demoted the 4 longest 3-stars to 2-star.  This meant the 2-stars were overloaded, so I demoted the 4 longest 2-stars to 1-star.  (I of course didn't demote the same songs twice, I'm not that clumsy)

This process isn't the absolute best at getting the demoted songs' ratings right, but it is fast, and most importantly it's better than letting perfectly good new songs rot at the 1-star level forever.  Now Aimer is being given her due with 40 whole points to her name in my Good Music permapost.
