I've pre-ordered a copy of the newest manga volume digitally from Bookwalker for a cheap $7. In about 13 hours the manga will become available for reading. I'm sure it will be great, we're dealing with an evil queen who has used mind control magic to automatically make her subjects content with her rule no matter how bad things get. You've got to smack down free will violators like that in the name of great justice.
Meanwhile, I finished Yuuri's route in Trinoline Genesis. She continues to be the best girl of the franchise. Her voice actress is amazing, I wish I could hear her in more roles, she certainly deserves them.
Last weekend was amazing. All four NFL Playoff games were decided by a last second score, one of them even going to overtime. That's as competitive as it gets. Sadly the teams I was cheering for lost, but by giving a good showing I'm still satisfied. It could have gone either way every single time. People are already saying that might have been the best weekend of football in history, and I can't really argue with that assessment. We watched the very best players play their very hardest. If Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady really do retire after this, we'll never see a weekend like this one again.
But it wasn't only the football that was on fire. The latest episode of Kimetsu no Yaiba was incredible. With four demon slayers and two demons fighting all at once in a chaotic flurry of projectile attacks, your eyes simply could not keep up with the amount of action ongoing. It turned into some sort of beautiful blizzard. The animators took the care to make every dot on the screen as well animated as some sort of key frame for any other anime, and you probably didn't even see it. The budget, the talent, and the artistry that went into this episode! I'm pretty sure the Sound Hashira's weapons were moving beyond 60 frames per second, so they were drawing more frames per second than the human eye could even differentiate.
The Shingeki no Kyojin episode was exciting in its own way, using some innovative Matrix freeze-frame style camera pans and the situation chaotically twisting back and forth so you never know who's actually winning.
And then on top of that Slow Loop had a tearjerking, heartfelt moment when the two daughters mourned their parents together. Shikkakumon, Cue! and Tropical Rouge Precure were all great too. Tropical Rouge concludes next week.
My musical 'victory lap' still has a ways to go, but it's already clear no further substitutions will be made. This is because the only remaining instrumental songs up for axing are classics I've vetted over and over and know won't fail. Besides, I don't have any great anime music waiting in the wings that could overtake them, so at this point it's all a formality. These are my starting 1100, and an absolutely marvelous top tier they are. I have no further complaints with any of them.
Of course, if new songs are made and catch my notice, that could disrupt things again, but that's a worry for the far future, for now these 1100 songs can rest easy and soak in the glory of their hard fought, well deserved victory. And I can enjoy a background of great music without having to constantly stop and edit everything again. This could actually be the true day my six year music listening project has reached its fruition. The idea was always, from the beginning, to assemble all the best music in the world, have them compete against each other to find out who was the best, and then get to listen to only the winners. With the 5-star category settled, the initial objective has been fulfilled. Now I just have to sit back and enjoy long enough to make all that effort worthwhile.
