Yoimonogatari half-read:

Bakemonogatari volume 24, Yoimonogatari, is halfway translated, with the second half promised to arrive 'late June/early July.'  Well, we're pretty near late June, so I figured I may as well start reading and the second half will arrive soon enough.

This book as well, featuring the 'loli trio,' and 'loliligi-san, sorry, my tongue slipped,' is as funny and brilliant as ever.  I thought Karen Ogre was unique in how funny it was, but the past two volumes have also been making me laugh out loud over and over again.  Karen Ogre is still the funniest, but man.  Nisio Isin is on fire.  I love how simple and realistic this story is, and yet still so gripping and exciting to read.  The stakes are so low but it's still as interesting as ever.  This is masterful writing.  These recent books may even be better than the animated parts.  Actually, I think they're pretty clearly better than the animated parts.  Which makes it all the more frustrating they aren't animated.

As a result, Nisio Isin (due entirely to Bakemonogatari), is my #1 value-added light novel author.  I.E., he has the best stuff out there that's a) translated, b) not animated.  He moved up like a bolt of lightning due to these latest two books.  I can't deny his brilliance any longer.

Silver Ruins, Black Moon book II is also half-translated, but there's no timeline on when it will be finished.  Unlimited Fafnir 13, Stardust Cry, has been half-translated for years and clearly will never be translated any further, to my soul-rending frustration.  But Yoimonogatari is different from those chumps, people actually care about Bakemonogatari.

It doesn't really matter what order I listen to my music in, but I'm trying to get all of my hall-of-fame prospects at least up to 80 playthroughs before I push forward towards my 100 playthrough goal.  Restricting the range of playthroughs on all my candidates to within a reasonable margin will get them all across the finish line at a more similar time too.  For this lesser goal line I'm 136 entries away.
