Escape from Battle Athletes:

The latest episodes of Battle Athletes Restart spend too much time on the over the top, ridiculous and obnoxious villains (why are there even any villains in a sports series??), spoiling the original fun of the premise and the good nature of the heroine.  I can't stand Yana debating whether she should kill an innocent beautiful talented girl or not like it's some sort of tough decision.  Then you have this evil doctor straight out of Michigan State casting, this weird Council of Evil chuckling in the background, a black guy and a kangaroo.  Everything, everything is in the way of the simple fun of honest competition.

The original series was nothing like this.  This is a disgrace to Battle Athletes.  Dropped.

Meanwhile, I also dropped 'ESCAPE' from my music hall of fame.  Conveniently, this reduces Nobuo Uematsu's total song count from the demonic 666 to 665.  Nobuo Uematsu is an angel from on high, it was frustrating for him to be honored for exactly 666 songs all this time, it couldn't be less true.  What's good about ESCAPE can be found in his other songs while what's bad is really bad.  I somehow held on to it for 87 playthroughs but no more.

My music hall of fame increased by one as well, though, so it stays at 5485.  The ending to Shadows House is really addictive.  My estimation of Shadows House keeps increasing every week, now it's my second favorite series of the year, only behind Uma Musume S2.  It doesn't push any obvious emotional buttons, it's more of an intellectual delicacy.  It makes you wonder and fret and think every episode about what happened and why.  It's such a shame this manga is only getting a 12 episode adaptation.  We aren't going to get any answers at all by the end of the show.
