March 1917 Node III Book 2 Read:

The newest epic Red Wheel novel has been defeated.  In all its hardcover majesty.  The military essentially refused to fight the revolution and so by default the Emperor had to abdicate all authority.  The situation is horrendously dire.  The people all across the Empire are celebrating in the streets their new 'freedom,' but in fact the communist faction has control over the press and the revolutionary red troops who will execute anyone they tell to shoot.  With this the people aren't in the least free, nor is the government ministry free, as everyone ultimately answers to these red guards' bullets.  Everything on paper looks great, the incompetent czar gives way to the people's champions who have assembled from all across Russia with a plan to modernize governance.  But in the end it just comes down to the Communists wringing everyone's necks.  There is only a thin veneer saving Russia from the coming October horrors and the tens of millions of dead.

If the army had acted in favor of the Czar none of this would have happened.  If they had at least marched into Petrograd and announced their allegiance to the Duma none of this would have happened.  But instead the military abandoned the capital to its fate and insisted on keeping all of its troops on the front line fighting Germany.  It's such a paralyzing feeling to know that not a single person will actually fulfill their oath of allegiance when push comes to shove, that you've been paying all these people all this time for nothing.

Aside from hooligans and looters, the red army doesn't exist.  A forceful push by anyone would have toppled it all.  But because no one had the fidelity to pull the trigger the Soviets can continue to gather their might like a parasitic pustule in the capital while the army wastes away fighting the wrong enemy.  By the time they realize their mistake and the Red-White war begins it will be too late, the balance of power will have shifted to the other side.  Now was the time to strike, to set everything forward in the right direction from the beginning.  The responsible democrats and constitutional monarchists, with the strength of the entire army behind them, could have arrested and executed all the communist revolutionaries then and there.  Instead they pretended not to see.

100 million corpses litter the path of their cowardice.

Mathematically, it's impossible for me to listen to all my hall of fame music 100 times by year's end.  I'll be lucky if I can finish next year.  2022 is probably the more reasonable finish line.

Also mathematically, there are enough announced sequels to already ranked great anime that I'm bound to pass 9,000 episodes or movies at some point, but it's doubtful that will actually happen this year.  I still have 300 episodes to go after all, and if One Pace ever releases any new condensed episodes then perforce One Piece will be shrinking in size, not growing, during this time.

The decision by the anime industry to produce most of their sequel content as movies instead of tv episodes is very deleterious to the 9,000 dream. . .

Sooner or later, though, the day will come once more.  And with no additional series in need of condensing, this time the number will stand forever.

43% of Americans support the droning of Solemeini.  Only 38% oppose.  The rest aren't sure.  So America in the main supports Trump.  Even more so, among Republicans and right-leaning independents, the natural audience of right wing agitators, 84% support Trump's decision.  So by coming out as a shill for Iran and denouncing Trump in thunderous and fiery terms, you've just lost 84% of your base for absolutely no reason.  Real America understands that Iran has been a rogue state, an evil actor in the world stage, for the last 40 years, and the attack on our embassy had to be the last straw.  Iran has now committed yet another act of war against us (and Iraq, if they care).  It was as ineffectual as I predicted, not amounting to a hill of beans, and probably should best be ignored as beneath contempt.  But alternatively it would be a perfectly good pretext to end their regime once and for all.

All it would take is a few well placed smart bombs and the whole nation would tumble.  81% of Iranians already hate their own government.  There's no need for a ground invasion or World War III, just a judicious punitive series of strikes until a responsible government emerges from the rubble and sues for peace.  No soldiers need bleed for Iran's liberation.  Soldiers will continue to live cushy lives with a lower death rate than taxi drivers or pizza delivery boys.  I get so tired of the same lying talking points trotted out every single time.  US soldiers just got a 3% across the board raise and the largest military yearly budget in history.  The least they could do is push a few red buttons and lob a few missiles, completely in safe bunkers in the rear, at our designated targets.  Oh the poor sacrifices these men and women go through!

I'll be interested to hear what Trump decides tomorrow, but whatever his decision, he has the backing of the entire right wing of the nation.  Aside from the contemptible dissident right sites who are in closer alignment with Michael Moore and Nancy Pelosi than the people they claim to represent.
