Kanzen Kaihi Healer no Kiseki:

It's always nice to find new manga worth reading, even when they aren't original manga but just light novel adaptions.

The new year starts with a new series, Kanzen Kaihi Healer no Kiseki, about a healer who put all his stats into evasion and is looked down upon thereby.  It's cute and funny.  Only eight chapters so far.

Meanwhile, I listened to the Muramasa soundtrack.  First, I cut and ignored all the music not composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto or Masaharu Iwata, since who cares about people whose reputations don't precede them.  Then I cut all the remixes of the remaining two.  Then I cut the songs that weren't very appealing.  And by the end I only had one survivor -- 'Dusky A' by Masaharu Iwata.  This musical masterpiece joins my music hall of fame, while the entire rest of the soundtrack joins the dust bin.  I guess it was worth downloading for that one song?

The new music hall of fame is 5461 songs, 12.3 days in length.  The goal is to up that '40 times listened to for all songs' to 100 times listened to.  I doubt I'll manage that this year, but I'll put in lots of hard work to get closer to my goal.  Life is long enough that if you just keep on plugging you can achieve pretty much anything.

My life needs to be a lot longer because as things stand:

Only 4 of my 27 favorite light novel series have both been finished by the author satisfactorily and completely translated.

Only 30 of my favorite 75 manga series have both been finished by the author satisfactorily and completely translated.

Only 5 of my top 10 visual novel franchises have both been finished by the author satisfactorily and completely translated.

Only 82 of my top 200 anime franchises have reached a satisfactory conclusion to their tales and been completely translated.

A revolution in AI translation would be a big help towards this dilemma.  But I would even settle for Japanese authors just hurrying up and finishing all their way too long works so I can finally see all their endings.

So far this bowl season the SEC has really dominated.  I expect the LSU vs. Clemson match to reflect the same.

For now I'll be reading the newest Red Wheel book, another series still in need of translation.  (4 untranslated volumes to go).  Between all the football games and new books to read January's entertainment needs should be easily met.  Then we'll be getting the newest key visual novel, Summer Pockets, so I don't anticipate any down time any time soon.

The new winter 2020 anime season should be starting up soon, so I'll of course be writing a first impressions post for the newcomers.  I don't expect this season to be much good but who knows, there's always hope.  In April SAO returns (as does Oregairu) so that's all that really matters.
