Texas aTm managed to have a 34 point lead and still lose to UCLA on Sunday, the second biggest comeback in college football history. (Just one point less than the biggest comeback ever.)
But that may not have been the worst loss for Texas football this week. Texas, which was supposedly a top 25 team, lost to unranked Maryland in a game where they never really stood a chance.
But that probably wasn't the worst loss either. That's reserved for Baylor, which managed to lose to FCS 'powerhouse' Liberty. For a team that was in the college football playoff discussion just a couple years ago, this is just way too humiliating.
On the bright side, Liberty is joining the FBS in 2019, so Baylor can say that they lost to a 'FBS-Caliber' team. Yep, that's the Lone Star State for you, losing to teams that in two years will finally get to play in the same division as we do. I guess losing to the likes of Liberty couldn't be helped then.
The number of FBS teams won't change, because Idaho will be leaving next year back to the FCS.
Maybe the whole state of Texas should join Idaho in the FCS. Clearly we're not cut out for FBS football anymore.
