This show has all sorts of problems, from the art to the voice acting. But the main problem is I don't like any of the characters. They aren't assertive enough, or they're too rude and obnoxious, it's one extreme or the other -- they all seem to lack basic interpersonal skills and it makes watching them grating. It's just too painful putting all these maladjusted losers in a room together.
Meanwhile Boke Dake ga inai Machi continues to deliver with its epic presentation values and compelling story, setting and characters. Watching the ice skating competition made me forget all about the murder mystery and just enjoy life as is. That's some powerful artistry at work there. I'll put it into my good manga rankings for now and hope for it to reach my anime rankings later.
Dimension W's third episode airs in a few days, so we'll see if it can join Boku Dake in the hall of manga fame then.
