1997, like 1998, still has some important animes that are still reverberating to this day. The popularity of Evangelion and Rurouni Kenshin still hasn't faded in the least. And studio Ghibli's Mononoke Hime is quite simply a masterpiece.

Berserk? Berserk just happens to be getting a new sequel season in 2016. If you forget about Berserk Guts will split open your skull. Violence and watercolors never went so well together.
