New Game gets an Anime!:

The good news just keeps rolling in.  New Game is getting a tv anime.  It's a highly popular manga so it felt like it was only a matter of time before this announcement was made, but Rewrite was a popular visual novel and it was ignored for five years, so you just never know with this business.  It's a huge relief for this work to officially be green-lit.  Though there's no way the anime will possibly look as good as the lovingly crafted manga art, the voice acting, music, color and motion will make up the difference.

According to dubious forum posts, Full Metal Panic's new animated project will be the continuation of the story all the way to the end of the light novels.  If so, this is tremendous news.  That would be 48 episodes or more worth of content.  I'm just not sure I'm willing to put my faith in a forum post that claims it translated a nico nico video that etc, etc.  I wish I could find something a little more official before I start jumping up and down.

However, if FMP really does get fully animated, it will have to be a candidate for the top ten anime of all time, or at least in the top twenty.  The tragic midway cutoff is the only thing that's kept its ranking so far down in the first place.  If that barrier is removed, this show has nigh infinite potential.
