Fall 2015 Anime Preview:

The fall anime season is just three weeks away, but no one is previewing it yet.  Luckily, Anichart always has the info you need at hand, so I'll just be going by that.

What does the fall season have in store for us?

Firstly, long running shows will continue as normal --  Pretty Cure, Fairy Tail and One Piece will be unaffected by the switch over.

Dragon Ball Super should stop being a repeat of the movie and venture into new content, at which point it will be worth watching again.

Naruto will still be in eternal filler, probably all the way until 2016.

So that's four great shows obviously worth watching.

Next up, we have sequels to known great series -- Utawarerumono - Itsuwari no Kamen, Owarimonogatari, and Yuru Yuri 3.  Three more shows that are instant includes.

Next up are shows that should be good -- Heavy Object, by the same guy who wrote Index.  Hidan no Aria AA, which is a spinoff of the known good show Hidan no Aria.  That gives us two more near surefire successes.  Now we're up to nine shows.

I'm willing to watch the first episode and try out the following new series as well:

Comet Lucifer
Gakusen Toshi Asterisk
Lance N' Masques
One Punch Man
Ore ga Ojou-sama Gakkou ni "Shomin Sample" Toshite Gets'Sareta Ken
Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan
Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru
Subete ga F ni Naru
Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai

Comet Lucifer is an original story.  One Punch Man's source is a manga.  All the others are based off of light novels.  Light novel based anime tends to be in the right genre to be good, but always fail in the execution.  Still, that's a better starting point than 'hopeless from the very beginning'.

Supposing half of these shows pan out, we can add four more shows to the watchlist.  The fall season will end up with 13 watchable shows, as opposed to the current 20.  Not a bad showing, considering 20 is irregularly high.

Expect a relaxing ride into the new year with no high expectations and thus no disappointments.  By 2016, maybe we can get some seriously motivating anime announcements, like SAO III, Bleach, Rewrite, Index III, Nanoha Vivid season 2, Saki Semifinals, Strike Witches III, Shirobako season 2, Sailor Moon Crystal Season 2, Jojo's Part 4, No Game No Life Season 2, Akatsuki no Yona season 2, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun season 2, Hibike! Euphonium Season 2, and Haganai season 3.

We definitely need something to get the blood pumping during the cold wintry nights.  Long enough to last us until the Rio Olympics sweep 2016 away.
