Eagerly Awaited Anime:

Six episodes of good anime are out in the wild but untranslated -- Yama no Susume 7, Little Busters Ecstasy 7 and 8, Hayate no Gotoku Ova-b, and History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi ova's 10 and 11.  You could virtually make an entire anime season out of good anime we currently can't watch because subbers aren't on top of the ball.

In one week, these shows will be joined by the final Sora no Otoshimono movie.  In addition, the entirety of the new Lodoss War tv series that started this spring and ended this June still hasn't been translated in the least.  I'm not saying it's a good show or a gigantic loss to the world if it isn't translated, but I still think it's at least worth translating.  Much like Haitai Nanafa season 2, which will be coming out in blu-ray momentarily, but was never subtitled even when it was broadcast.  It's troublesome when good anime is left behind.

While we wait for good anime to get translated, bad anime is coming out right on schedule -- the Terra Formers ova is a great way to learn what to avoid in the coming fall season.  Turning humans into mutant bugs and having them fight mutant cockroaches is about as gross as it can get.  The added random death and gore just makes it worse.  And the complete senselessness of fighting a non-sentient opponent just like Mushibugyo ruins the concept yet again.  How many times will shows make the exact same mistake?  You'd think the unpopularity of the Mushibugyo anime would have told animators all they needed to know about this 'bug-fighting' genre.  Oh well.

Hanamonogatari has been translated.  It's okay, as stories go.  But it's essentially irrelevant to the larger plotline, having no connection to any of the main characters.  Suruga Kanbaru is an extremely minor side character, and she goes and interacts with a new character who hasn't even been introduced before in their own little world.  It could have been a book written in a completely different series and no one would have noticed.  In addition, if it had been left out of the series, no one would have noticed it was missing either.  One of those stories which, even though it is canon, could still be called filler just on the basis of how utterly pointless it all was.  Any Monogatari is a good thing, but Hanamonogatari was by far the worst of the 2nd Season arcs.  It's no wonder it was left out from the main broadcasting window.

There's still no announcement on when exactly the Kizumonogatari movie is going to come out.  Sometimes I despair of this show ever being made.  But until Kizumonogatari comes out, there's no point moving forward with the plot into a season 3.  Monogatari will probably be stalled for years before animating anything more now.  I hope people are ready for another long wait.

People are still hoping that Fate/Kaleid Liner and SAO II will extend into the fall season.  However, I predict they'll both end this summer.  Fate/Kaleid Liner will stop after the fight with Bazett, and SAO II at the end of the Bullet of Bullets fight.  They both have no incentive to continue.  Fate/Kaleid Liner 2wei has no good ending point and 3rei still isn't done, so it may as well stop here.  Meanwhile, SAO II has a clean break point at the end of Gun Gale Online, but there isn't a very clear ending anywhere beyond that, as it all leads directly into Alicization from there, which still isn't done.  Furthermore, with Log Horizon 2 starting this fall, there would be too much overlap between virtual reality MMO based series if they both aired at once.  Likewise, Fate/Kaleid Liner would overlap with the new Fate Unlimited Blade Works series if it extended airing into the fall.  Both shows would rather not crowd out each other's hype and end up with the short end of the stick, so they'll quit while they still have a monopoly on their fans' attention.  Hunter x Hunter is mercifully ending in just five more eps.

This means the only anime we have to look forward to in the near future is Fate/Unlimited Blade Works, Amagi Brilliant Park, Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai, Grisaia no Kajitsu, Sora no Method, Strike Witches, Yuru Yuri, Prince of Tennis, Sailor Moon Crystal, Naruto, One Piece, Precure, Yama no Susume, Jojo's, Fairy Tail, Dragon Ball Buu Kai, Hayate no Gotoku ova-c, and whatever other surprises await us this fall.  Really, not a bad lineup.  :).
