True Crimes:

Modern culture only worries about two things when it comes to crime.  They don't want people to harm other people, and they don't want people to oppress other people.  Generally liberals worry more about harm while libertarians worry more about the restriction of their liberties.  An uneasy compromise exists in most societies where there are no extremes of pain or oppression, but the middle ground is constantly contested between two major political parties.

Unfortunately, both of these moral systems are utterly worthless, because neither the avoidance of pain nor freedom is the essence of absolute Good.  If anything, these two are tertiary values, well removed from the primary meaning and purpose of our lives.  God did not put us here in order to avoid feeling pain or to not be oppressed.  That's pathetic.  He put us here to do positive things.  As the Catholics explained, the purpose of mankind is to glorify God.  The only way to do that is to polish our souls such that they are a worthy creation that even God could be proud of.  There are plenty of living creatures with no pain sensors at all, like plants.  This does not make them 'ideal.'  Likewise, there are plenty of creatures who aren't oppressed by anything or anyone -- like mosquitoes and cockroaches.  No one thinks they glorify God.

There are only three things that are suitably divine to be worthy offerings to our Lord.  They are the only things humans can participate in that can justify their existence in this world.  Perhaps if we were a higher order being, we would discover a fourth, fifth, or sixth value equally as great as these three.  But as it stands, we humans have only these three:  Love, Beauty, and Truth.

Compared to such meaningless goods as freedom or pleasure, these three banish such ideas into utter ashamed obscurity.  It's absurd that our society has been hijacked into pursuing these goals at the cost of those things which truly matter in this world.  Even in Stalin's gulag camps, Solzhenitsyn was able to lead a life of Beauty and Truth.  He wrote the Gulag Archipelago while sitting in Stalin's Gulag.  Freedom meant nothing to him, because he had already transcended freedom.  Even as Boethius sat awaiting death in his prison cell, he composed 'The Consolation of Philosophy.'  As Thomas Paine awaited execution in the gaols of the French Revolution, he wrote his magnum opus, "The Age of Reason."  Freedom meant nothing to Thomas More, who willingly acceded to beheading rather than letting Henry VIII get yet another divorce and yet another wife on top of all his previous infamies.  Freedom meant nothing to Jesus Christ, who died on a cross rather than deny his divinity.

Oppression is powerless in the face of true good.  Martyrs to Truth, Beauty, or Love live forever as shining examples of the value of the Good, while oppression sputters and fails before the faithful who prove it has no power over them.  Oppression has never once managed to stifle any belief system so long as it was willing to die for that belief.  Therefore, maximizing freedom is a fool's errand.  It's just a distraction.  People who stand up for what's right will always be free, whatever the constitution says.  Likewise, none of these people cared how much they physically suffered as a result of their choices.  They had already long ago transcended pain.  Socrates didn't fear death for teaching the heresy that the Greek Gods either hadn't sinned like in all the myths (like the lecherous Zeus and cheating Venus) or they weren't God.  He preferred to simply take his poison than renounce his views to the rest of the Athenian people.  He did not fear pain, he did not fear death, but he could not countenance the loss of something truly important -- the Truth.

While we are protecting people from being harmed or oppressed, we are neglecting to protect people from the losses that truly matter to them.  I agree with the stoics, and Jesus who came after them.  If someone wants to steal my cloak, or hit me on the cheek, or whatever, let him.  What does it matter?  Who really cares in the end?  These things are as transient as a cloud passing across the sun.  I don't need the law to protect me from these abuses.  I would much prefer the police concentrated on something much more serious -- not crimes against humanity, but crimes against God.  Crimes against humanity's very reason for being.  These are the wounds that last, the injuries that do not heal, the damage that continues to pile up until the entire edifice of civilization dissolves away and like a cliff face falls into the turbulent seas below, never to be seen again.

For I say to you, what use is it to gain the entire world and lose your soul?

The loss of one person's soul is a graver injury than a million people's lives, or a trillion dollars.  And yet in the world today, nothing is done to protect our souls.  We aren't even trying to raise people to be good anymore.  As such, we are losing the vast majority of mankind to darkness, when losing even a single one is worse than losing your entire house in a fire.

Forget the current law code, and forget what politicians are bickering over.  The enemy we face today isn't the enemy anyone is concentrating on, the threat we face today isn't the threat any of our armed forces are facing.  The dagger pressed to our throats isn't aimed at our freedom or our prosperity.  It's aimed at our ability to love something greater than our selves, believe in and have the courage to stand up for objective truth, and venerate and appreciate the beauty that exists all around us but is mere pearls cast before swine.

There are three true crimes:  Crimes against Love, Crimes against Truth, and Crimes against Beauty.  These are the sins that God warned us against, that the philosophers warned us against, that our own hearts warn us against if we would ever stop to listen.  These are the crimes our law code should be banning and punishing transgressors over.  This is what our police and army should be constituted to protect against.

There is a great deal of overlap between, say, a 'crime against humanity' in modern terms and a 'crime against Love' in my terms.  But the important thing is the emphasis of what exactly is being violated here.  In point of fact, it's not loving to kill some random stranger who's never done you wrong.  It's also inhumane.  So whether by my standards, or liberalism's standards, in both cases murder would be wrong.  But the situation changes dramatically if you hold to these same principles in a separate case:

Suppose said random stranger wasn't just a passing innocent.  What if said stranger took out a pair of scissors and randomly cut a swath out of your girlfriend's hair?  Under my system, you could and should now immediately kill said person, whereas under liberalism, you are incapable of really doing anything except making a muted complaint.

What's the difference?  Well, since hair doesn't have any pain nerves, you're not allowed to 'escalate' the violence by doing anything effective to said criminal.  No court would waste their time dealing with such a 'prank' and liberals would just walk on saying 'whatever.'  This is as far as humanitarianism will get you.

But under my system, the perpetrator has still committed a crime.  Not one against pain nerves, but one against Beauty.  The scissors fellow has blatantly and unequivocally stated that he has complete contempt for the beauty of a woman's hair, or the beauty of a woman as a whole.  Since this is one of the most beautiful things found in all nature, he may as well have simply spit in God's eyes, the creator of this, his absolute masterpiece.  His crime is of infinite magnitude and the only just punishment is death.

Likewise, humanitarianism says an adulteress is just pulling some sort of prank on her victim, her cuckolded husband, and there is no criminal penalty at all.  But under my code, this is a crime against Love, and thus punishable by death.  By committing adultery, the woman blatantly, knowingly, and unequivocally spat on something worth infinitely more than she was ever worth.  She denied her marriage vows, she denied every time she had said she loved her husband, and she trampled all over his heart which he had trustingly put into her care.  He returned his good with her evil, and his faithfulness for her betrayal.  God gave us the gift of love so that we would not be alone in this world, and then this woman stole it away and shattered her lover's heart forever, who will never get a second chance to experience it again, because A) he's too old to start over.  B) he's already too in love with this girl to ever properly love another.  C) he can never trust another woman again.  D) he already has children by this wife and thus his family must always revolve around this single orbit.  Betrayal is the worst sin imaginable.  That is why Dante put traitors into the very deepest, the 13th circle of hell.  To betray another is to attack Love itself, the ties that bind, and thus dissolves all society, all community, all feelings whatsoever.  If we cannot love and be loved, life cannot be lived and isn't worth living.  Humans are a social animal and go insane when put in solitary confinement.  An assault on love is an assault on the very core of our humanity, it is an assault on all Love everywhere, every family everywhere, every mother's bond with her children, every father's bond with his children, every siblings bond with each other, every friend's bond with each other, every husband's bond with his wife, every nation's bond with its fellow citizens, every bond ever made on God's green Earth.  If you can betray one, why not another?  Why not all of them?  If you can betray even marriage, what can't be betrayed, forsaken, shattered, or broken?  What possible bonds are left?  Will there ever be a truly faithful, lasting relationship again, for anyone under the sun?

Under liberalism, it's okay to get drunk until you vomit and then pass out on a curb, your skin defaced by tattoos and weird piercings all throughout your nose, mouth, and genitalia.  But under my code, this would be a crime against Beauty and all of these behaviors would be banned.  Whether internally defacing yourself via drugs or externally via mutilation, all of it would be banned and the offenders would be executed as making a mockery of God's greatest creation, Man.  We are beautiful the way we were born, with a sound body and a sound mind, and within this sound body and sound mind, and only within this sound body and sound mind, can we ever nourish and nurture up a sound soul, a proud offering to our Lord in his heavens, who will accept it with gratitude and joy.

If only we realized how much we are losing, how much we have lost under this false and worthless law code!

If only we weren't being educated to ignore the true crimes occurring all around us, while fixating on non-crimes that don't matter or never even happened!

And this perhaps is the worst field of our sins.  It's bad enough that girls dress like men and men dress like girls, both of whom utterly deface the beauty God gave to us.  It's bad enough that drunks wander through the Louvre and punch a hole through a painting of Monet because they thought it would be funny.  No, the real shadow that hangs like an eternal pall over this world is our crime against Truth.

Truth has never had so few champions, and they have never been so drowned out by the Father of Lies.  I have never seen a world more in Satan's grasp than the world of today.

Every day, all around the world, practically every child in the world is swept into a public school, where they are taught utter, total, absolute lies about the present reality of this world and its past history.  Every single child on Earth is being brainwashed to believe absolute lies, almost every day of the year.  When they go home, they turn on televisions, which continue to lie to them, or attend movies, which lie even more.  They are born into lies, taught lies, and die having heard nothing but lies their entire life.  It has never, ever been so bad before.

They are taught that up is down, right is wrong, and that black is, literally, white.

To teach people that everything is relative is the most heinous lie that could ever be taught.

To say that everyone is equal is the most ridiculous, pernicious, absurd falsehood that anyone could have ever imagined.

Even in the face of the most blatant evidence ever assembled in world history, even in the face of Sweden on one side, and Haiti on the other, we are taught every day, in school, on television, at church, everywhere, that Haitians and Swedens are exactly and in all ways the same.  That if all Swedish children were adopted by Haitian parents, they would behave exactly like Haitians when they grew up, and that if all Haitian children were adopted by Swedish parents, they would behave exactly like Swedes when they grew up.  If you do not ascribe to this belief, you have broken this world's taboo and are banished to the outer darkness.  In some countries you will be thrown in prison for denying this 'truth.'  In others you will simply be denied employment, status, and thus any chance at marriage and children.

Supposedly, according to all our schools and all our television programs, if we simply raised our daughters to be sons, they would be men by the time when they grew up.  Likewise, if we simply dressed our sons up in pink dresses and gave them tea sets to play with as children, they would all grow up to be women.  If you deny this 'truth,' you will be banished into the outer darkness.  Even in the face of endless evidence that children naturally and of their own accord behave in ways typical of their sex, and that their inner personality is closely linked to their hormones and outward appearance, people are no longer allowed to assert that men and women are naturally, genetically, essentially different.

Lies that before were so bald faced, so extroardinary, so ridiculous, that no one dared to speak them for being ridiculed out of court are now accepted as the accepted 'enlightened wisdom' of our betters.  Men and women are the same.  Blacks, Asians, and Whites are the same.  Gays and straights are the same.  Everything is the same.  There is no objective right or wrong, except disagreeing with this statement, so there is no way to judge anyone by any standards, and since there are no standards, no one can be superior or inferior, everyone is exactly and in every way equal.

This is the worst lie that could ever be told.  There is simply no more destructive moral principle than that there are no moral principles possible to promulgate.  And yet this is the very lie taught to our children every day of their lives, every hour of the day, by every single authority figure on Earth.

In a proper legal system, under a proper legal code, any crime against Truth would be punishable by death.  If anyone dared to open their mouths and say such ridiculous lies as 'blacks and whites are the same' or 'men and women are the same,' they would be dragged to the nearest lamp posts and hung for the whole crowd to see.  Allowing lies to go unpunished in your community is essentially surrendering to a world of nothing but lies.  And allowing people to live a lie destroys all meaning and purpose to life itself.

God gave us a single, absolute universe.  It follows a single, absolute set of laws, which never change, and are universal across all space.  Wherever we go, wherever we look, the laws of entropy, gravity, conservation of energy, etc, are all the same.  Everywhere we go, light behaves the same, matter behaves the same, space itself behaves the same.  God gave us a simple, clear, intelligible world of truth and order.  He gave us perfection.  He gave us a creation that is pristine, like an unclouded mirror, through which reality can be discerned without any confusion or misjudgement.  To turn that into a murky cloud of relativism and chaos, where what you see right in front of your eyes is denied by your teachers in your classroom, is spitting in God's eye, destroying Nature's perfection, and eradicating the gift of reason and logic God put into every human's head, that can see the chain of cause and effect, truth and falsehood, order from disorder, and the universal truths of this world all around him.

Once you have abolished nature's existence, by saying it's no longer true, and abolished man's capacity to reason, by saying you are not allowed to affirm nature's truths anymore, you have abolished Creation.  You have killed God.  You have destroyed the soul of the whole world.

This is why Solzhenitsyn asked only one thing from his Russian comrades suffering under the Soviet yoke -- "Just do not lie."  With that alone, Good will triumph.  Without it, no matter what else you heap onto your pile of virtues, Evil will always, utterly, completely, and eternally triumph over you.

Crimes against Truth spread like cancers and are a threat not only to the deceived, but all people everywhere.  A lie against one subject isn't a threat to only that subject, but all Truth everywhere, because every truth in this world is connected to every other truth, because Truth is one united, perfect whole, just like the God who created it in the first place.  If you allow one lie to be spoken anywhere, about anything, to anyone, you have committed a crime against Truth and a crime of such infinite import can only be answered with the equal gravity of the penalty of death.

Pollution is a crime against Beauty.  It takes God's beautiful Earth, full of vivid greens and blues, and turns it into a brown, stinky, empty mess.  Our mountains, our deserts, our oceans, our rivers, our skies, our wildlife, everything in this world, everything in the entire universe is beautiful, a gift given to us by God.  We do not have the permission to deface this beauty for the sake of material gain.  We do not have the right to destroy these precious visions because it may suit us in this way or that.  They are off limits.  They are there to be appreciated, by ourselves and our posterity, not consumed.  The proper penalty for polluters isn't a fine, it's death.

If someone cannot appreciate great works of art around them, which are the uttermost pinnacle of mankind's capacity to create beauty, and thus our highest and greatest offering to God, then they need to stay silent.  It is blasphemy to mock, criticize, or scorn truly great art, or truly wonderful fictional characters depicted within art -- like Nagisa from Clannad or any of the Pretty Cures in Pretty Cure.  Movies, music, anime, literature, paintings, landscapes, architecture -- there are certain things which are just off limits.  The Eiffel tower is as beautiful as a field of blooming cherry trees.  In a way, it's even more beautiful.  I won't allow any insults to be proffered to either of them.  Pissing on a beautiful building or mocking Beethoven's symphonies is no longer valid speech.  It's just wrecking.  It's just turning all the vileness of your heart and spewing it like vomit over something far more glorious than you, or your thoughts, or your soul could ever be.

It's sensible to always have a way to discuss art, criticize it, and critique it in intelligent conversations between peers.  But outright mockery, utter disdain, vandalism, etc, is another thing entirely.  There is a line that cannot be crossed, and that is when you assert there is no holiness to music, art, architecture, stories, or art at all.  That everything is beneath you, and nothing is good enough for you, and all of man's works are but dust before your insatiable appetite.  That one full belly or one good lay trumps all the concerts by all the greats that ever came before you.  This is a crime against Beauty, and the only fit punishment for such hopeless, hedonist philistines or cynical, egotistical nihilists is death.

It is a crime against love to not love your children and raise them yourself.  Anyone who fathers or gives birth to a bastard should be executed for child abandonment.  I don't understand how we could ever allow such criminal recklessness, such absolute cruel selfishness, to ever exist in our society.  Anyone who divorces their husband or wife should be executed as a crime against love.  It is simply unacceptable to promise to be together until death do you part, and then just part on your own selfish whimsy, just because it 'didn't work out.'  The mindlessness, the depravity it takes to reach a point where you think this is somehow morally okay, is out of this world.  Anyone who has gone this far, is this steeped in this darkness, is this much a zombie slave to their most bestial impulses, should just be put out of their misery already.  Spouses deserve the loyalty they were promised.  Children deserve a mother and a father.  Parents deserve children who do honor to their name, and return the labor they put into their creation with something that glorifies them, by being a good creation, which is the same duty we all hold towards God.  And the community deserves families that do not leave their messes for other people to clean up.  A life of treachery, betrayals, and selfishness is the most common and most painful crime the modern world currently participates in.  We are in a bloodbath of broken hearts, broken marriages, parentless children, and evil role models for the next generation.  We have taught children that it is not only okay to have zero honor before or after marriage, but that it is something to celebrate and take pride in.  "I am womyn, here me rawr!"  Or "I have ten booty calls, and twenty children, and I'm not paying for any of them!"  These people aren't ashamed of what they are doing, they glory in it.  It's as though they have simply, and openly, embraced Satan as their God and try every day to glorify the absolute disgrace, the absolute infamy, the absolute atrociousness of their spirits.

It's like the scene from David Zindell's Ea cycle, when our heroes are simply at a loss for how they could be facing such an evil being as the Dragon.

"Every atrocity, every abomination of the spirit."  These people are no longer even attempting to glorify God.  They have gone so far from lost souls to being found souls.  Their new God is Satan, and they rejoice in perverting and corrupting everything around them, like their television shows that show off promiscuity, their gay pride marches in scantily clad leather and whips, and so forth.  Crimes so despicable and disgusting they should never be talked about, are instead bragged about and encouraged among our children.  "You've never really understood the world until you imbibe shrooms."  This stuff has to end.  It has to not reach the next generation of children.  It must be stamped out, so that words like 'divorce,' 'abortion,' 'illegitimacy,' 'one night stands,' 'adultery', etc aren't even in their lexicons and they never hear of a single example once in their lives, much less are encouraged to take part in such crimes.

We are in one of the least loving ages of all time.  Most families at this point are entirely dysfunctional, and that's out of the remaining people who are even having families anymore.  More and more, people have simply abandoned love itself -- there is no attempt even made to form an eternal, lasting, powerful bond and bring forth children which is a product of that love, one half father and one half mother.  The birth rates among the civilized world are half of replacement level.  Life itself is withering away, in the face of a total desert of love.  Without love, the future is nothing but ashes.  It literally is an empty cradle.  It literally is an unmarked grave.  It is the end of the world.  If we do not preserve love, we can not preserve life.  Without marriage, there aren't children.  It's unimaginable that for the sake of 'avoiding pain' or 'preserving our freedoms,' we've allowed things to reach such dire straits.

People are marrying at later and later ages.  We're up to around 30 as the median right now.  But it's continuously rising.  How long until the average age of marriage is after menopause?  And how much damage are we doing, genetically, to children born from our aging, mutated, deformed eggs and sperm?  God gave us fertility, and the passion of romance, to climax as teenagers, and gradually decreased through our twenties.  By the time we are thirty, our fertility, and the eugenic quality of our children -- their health, intelligence, strength, and beauty -- have already halved.  By the time we're forty, the numbers get absurd.  And yet, and yet, marriage continues to be deferred, and love continues to dwindle away, and each generation gets more twisted and fewer in number than the last.  Do you know why so many psychos dominate the news these days?  Did crazy mass murderers use to go on killing sprees every day?  (And no, not just in America, and not just with guns, a Chinese crazy person killed just as many people with a knife a few weeks ago).  We are destroying the genetic quality of our progeny, because we have forsaken God's plan for our love lives.  We were never supposed to leave the home and 'support ourselves' or 'go to college.'  We were meant to go straight from our father's home into our spouse's home, have a trade already learned and already practicing, with all the capital already provided ahead of time, and to start giving birth to children immediately.  This is Nature's plan.  This is Love's plan.  The moment we left it, it abandoned us, and now we are headed for extinction.

What more important feature of reality, what more important conduct to criminalize and ban, than activities that lead to our total extinction as a species itself?  If anything should be illegal, surely this is it!  Surely the annihilation of mankind is a graver threat than any property tax or any level of inflation or any right to kiss another member of the same sex in public?  Surely life itself trumps everyone's selfish and petty freedoms, which are just licenses to sin and never grow up or do their duty or glorify God in their whole worthless lives?

But you see, none of my reasoning, no matter how long I speak of it, can get through to people, because they are operating from the wrong premises.  All of my conclusions flow effortlessly from this initial, all-important shift in perspective.  Once you join Socrates and proclaim Truth to be your only master, your absolute Good, then crimes against Truth only then become insufferable, intolerable, repugnant beyond all tolerance and abidance.  While people still cling to their old beliefs, their 'care/harm' and 'free/oppressed' models, nothing I say can ever reach them.  They just check to see if I'm advocating 'care or harm,' 'freedom or oppression,' and then stop listening entirely.  They have already turned away from the Spirit that wishes to save them.  They rejected God long ago.  They will not allow any element of God into their lives, and they will not hold a single part of God's essence to be holy.  They do not serve God anymore.  They don't even see Him anymore.  Their only lords are their most primitive, banal desires.  Love, Beauty, and Truth are all beyond them.  To even speak of them makes them giggle, with a "Is this guy real?" incredulity.  They cannot comprehend how good they are, or why they matter, or what we were even born for.  To them, this is just a joy ride, and they'll never allow anyone to get in the way of their all important satisfactions.  I cannot convince these people, no matter what I write, or how well it is written.

But I can at least glorify God myself, by telling people the Truth, as best I can, as publicly as I can.  If no one else reads or understands this post, then at least He does.  And so, I have done my part, and I am content.
