What the Summer Anime Season Should Be:

If only I were dictator of Japan, I could order them to suspend all of their anime series based on market factors and just make the anime I like. In this way, more anime of higher quality could be made. I could also just force people to buy the blu-ray disks, to support the cost of production, since I'm dictator of Japan after all. The summer anime season has 23 new series slated so far, it seems. So let's see what 23 series *I* would have on the lineup.

1. Dragonball Kai -- I would finish the remake by continuing into the Buu arc.
2. Remake of Ranma 1/2, this time following the manga, with HD widescreen art quality.
3. Remake of Sailor Moon, this time following the manga, with HD widescreen art quality.
4. Remake of Mahou Sensei Negima, this time following the manga, with HD widescreen art quality.
5. Extension of Rurouni Kenshin, this time following the manga until its proper end with the revenge arc.
6. Extension of Full Metal Panic, following the books, until the actual end of the series.
7. Extension of Index, following the books, until the actual end of the series.
8. Extension of Seikai no Senki, following the books, until the actual end of the series (Seikai no Senki IV).
9. Extension of Haruhi, following the books, until its caught up with Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya.
10. Extension of Nanoha, following the mangas Vivid and Strikeforce.
11. Extension of Clannad, following the visual novel Tomoyo After Story, it's a Wonderful Life.
12. Rewrite.
13. Little Busters, which should include the plotlines from ecstasy and kud waffe. (and maybe little busters 4 koma too. >>)
14. Planetarian, the saddest story ever told, which needs a much larger audience.
15. Extension of Working!!, following the manga, until its caught up.
16. Extension of Hayate the Combat Butler, following the manga, until its caught up.
17. Extension of Angel Beats, following the manga.
18. Extension of Claymore, following the manga, until its caught up.
19. Extension of Berserk, following the manga, until its caught up.
20. Extension of Guyver, following the manga, until its caught up.
21. Extension of Soul Eater, following the manga, until its caught up.
22. Extension of Spice and Wolf, following the books.
23. Extension of Ore no Immouto, following the books, until its caught up.

This would be a true dream anime lineup. Instead we're getting 'R-15' and 'Manyuu Hikenchou.' The summer anime season is going to be awful. I'll be surprised if there are even five shows worth watching: http://thecartdriver.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/ilr8Oa.jpg
