Heaven Burns Red released another tearjerking short story, Main Interlude II, which focuses on the most lovable girl in the game, and perhaps in all fiction -- Tama Kunimi. I own all of Tama's Memorias and they released a new one, so I wasn't about to stop here -- I paid the $70 necessary to get 'tuxedo Tama' and four other SS Memoria/limit breaks, and consider it a fair deal.
Tama has the most Memorias in the game, 8, and is the strongest character in the game, with all the best heals. She's one of the only characters I've gotten to level 4 limit break, max level. She's essential to virtually every squad I build, whether it's fire, light, or thunder Tama is at the forefront. The latest score challenge boss had a thunder vulnerability so my thunder squad, featuring Tama, Sumomo and Hisame admirably put it down with an over 400k high score. 400k isn't the maximum high score you can get, but it's enough to get all the valuable rewards from the score challenge, so mission accomplished. The best reward from the score challenge was the nordstrom crystal that let me introject Erika's angelic wings from her base form to her waitress form, thus giving Erika the ability to defend and attack with exclusive abilities from here on. Now if I just give waitress Erika some limit breaks I can drop base Erika entirely. . .
In Main Interlude II, Tama gets to meet the Main Computer of Kotetsu Maru one more time before it dies, thank it for all it taught her, and reassure it that she's going to live strong from here on. It was a beautiful moment, yet again strengthened by Tama's incredible voice actor, Aoi Koga. Tama has all the best lines in the game and the best delivery in the game.
As for the other SS Memorias I got/strengthened, they were also pretty nice. I got Mion to limit break level 1 (a healer so genuinely might be useful in a real fight), Chie to limit break level 3 (also a healer so definitely useful), Yotsuha to limit break level 1 (the game community says she's really strong so in the long term this will also pay off), and samurai Inori, the SS Memoria I most regretted not having until now, due to her critical pierce exclusive skill. If I gave samurai Inori some limit breaks, she could be as useful as Hisame, which would be crazy strong. Imagine if I could use both of them together. . . However, Inori isn't really a priority for my limit breaks so it's a dream of the far future. But at least it's now a possibility.
It also helps that samurai Inori is beautiful. I'd like to play her just so I can look at her. In addition, I received ninja Mari's level 2 limit break via rolling with the free quartz I got from defeating the Astrarium event at max difficulty. I was trying to get tuxedo Megumi but actually ninja Mari is awesome so this works too.
The interlude also came with a new song, shiniyuku kisetsu de boku wa, which I instantly added to my hall of fame, kicking out a valkyrie profile song to make room, then promoted to 4-star, demoting 'dreadnaught leviathan bridge' to 1-star to keep the tiers level. I also made it Megumi's theme song, replacing Zetaku na Kanjou. Jun Maeda as a writer and a composer isn't slowing down.
So long as Heaven remains this good a game, I'm happy to keep shoveling cash into its open maw. No other game remotely approaches the quality of Heaven.
Meanwhile, Major seasons 1-6 came out in bluray, which is a nice upgrade from the previous dvd versions I had in my archive.
