Index GT 4 read:

The great people over at baka-tsuki have finished their translation of the novel, so I was also able to finish reading it.  It's a feel-good story where the villains get their comeuppance and all the good guys are saved.  I have no objections other than the fact that the story is no closer to concluding than before.  Index is one of the stories on my watchlist where I'm dubious whether it will end or the author's life will end first.  This is, after all, the 60th volume or so in the series.  How many more can he really squeeze in?

The longest running novel series, Guin Saga, also ended with the author's death instead of the story's conclusion.  I guess by definition that was fated to happen, but Index seems to want to compete for that title, so I wouldn't be surprised if the same result occurred.

With the book done I have three remaining priorities:  Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, my 100 playthrough music hall of fame testing ground, and Octopath Traveler.  Luckily I can do a) and b) simultaneously -- just turn off the music to Ataraxia and play my playlist in the background as I read the unvoiced visual novel.  The synergy works like a charm.

2934 songs have yet to cross that magic 100 playthrough threshold, while 2551 already have.  The flipping point where more songs will be done than undone is approaching.  :).  And even the unfinished songs have a median playthrough rate of 86, so only 14 times left for the stragglers.

After Octopath Traveler I can seamlessly switch (pun intended) to Bravely Default II.  So basically I have tons of fun stuff to do for the foreseeable future.  The Tokyo Olympics are fast approaching, and a bunch of books and manga are slated for release in June.  After that will be the summer anime season, new MCU movies, and the 2021 football season.  There are no brakes on this train!

Sometime this year we'll get Aiyoku no Eustia, Summer Pockets Reflection Blue, Majikoi A-4 and more.  I'm amazed it hasn't happened yet but the longer we wait the more inevitable the releases become.

This June the two new Sailor Moon Eternal movies will stream, I've been looking forward to them with great anticipation, as much as the Kimetsu no Yaiba movie.  I said in 2020 I was more looking forward to 2021 because I'd get to read the conclusion to Outbreak Company then -- well here we are, the final volume is slated for release in a couple weeks.  Even the newest translated volume of Solzhenitsyn's Red Wheel series is coming out this October. (Another author who took too long writing his series and died before it could be finished.  Sigh.)

My '100 Waifus' book now has 14 5-star ratings and 1 4-star rating.  :).  That's at least fifteen people on Earth who appreciate what I've done.  I would prefer millions but even one person who understands and affirms you is miracle enough.  15 is thrilling.  Now that I've confirmed that Nia deserves to be in '100 Waifus' but Homura/Hikari/Pyra/Mythra/Pneuma does not (thank God I don't have to wrestle with that naming headache) it may even be a good time to re-read '100 Waifus.'  At least I know it isn't going to be changing any time soon.
