Jessica and Mia:

With Senmomo finished, I was able to get back to my Lunar Remastered game.  The last time I played it was around 30 years ago, so my memories of the plot and characters had obviously dimmed.  I had forgotten how charming and beautiful the two other heroines of the game were -- Jessica and Mia.  It's sort of like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.  "We all know Luna and Lucia. . .but do you recall, Jessica and Mia at all?"

Jessica wears the typical white robes and hood of a white mage, but her elven ears and face tattoos give her a very unique look all the same.  She's energetic, caring and strong.  It's impressive how she can get into the thick of melee combat almost as well as the warriors Alex and Kyle while also serving as the crucial healer of the party.

Mia is a gentle and soft-spoken girl who's nevertheless a highly skilled mage and able to take decisive action when the time comes.  She's perfect leadership material.

I've always loved Lunar, but Lunar Remastered is even better.  The newly introduced triple battle speed mechanic makes the fights a breeze instead of a nuisance.  The remastered profiles/anime cut scenes are gorgeous.  The voice acting is in its proper original Japanese.  By adding Jessica and Mia to my wonderful fictional characters, I can heap more honors onto the game as a whole.

Jessica and Mia replace Zack and Kelly.  Zack and Kelly are cool kiddos, but Saved by the Bell isn't actually that good a tv show.  There's a lot of other, annoying characters in the show and the plot meanders most of the time.  Zack is constantly getting into failed romances with the other girls before he ultimately settles on Kelly.  The romances in Japanese fiction are much purer.  When put side by side, it's obvious the girls of Lunar are more wonderful people, on the inside and the outside, than Zack and Kelly.  Conveniently this also gets my 'franchises honored outside of 100 Waifus' back to an even 60.  'The Silver 60' sounds better than 'The Silver 61.'

Jessica and Mia are girls from Lunar: The Silver Star Story, so their personal theme songs were obviously 5-star melodies from Lunar: The Silver Star Story.  Jessica got the fitting 'Go! Go! Go!', while Mia got the more sophisticated 'Mysterious Party.'

Meanwhile, I collected enough protean shards to limit break base Chie to max, level 4.  She won't be at full power until she actually gains the newly opened up ten levels of her new level cap.  But reaching level 4 instantly powers up her other Memoria versions by 10% -- datenshi Chie and dominatrix Chie, who are fixtures of my dark and ice squads.  I gave base Chie a test drive in a new squad designed for her and it did win a tough fight my light squad failed to beat.  This new squad is based around the critical penetration ability for offense and the auto-heal capabilities of max limit break Chie and Vritika for defense.  It's designed to win long fights -- like, say, the fight against Apophis. . .

The only problem is phantom thief Jamie is part of this squad and at level 0 limit break she really isn't ready for the big leagues.  But I did say Jamie, Inori and Hisame would one day fight alongside each other and at least in this test drive they did exactly that and very well.
