I added Roland from The Greatest Vision, Hitomi from Changeling, (both my own works), Makoto from Futari Ecchi, Aya and Koharu from Imouto Paradise, Shina and Meru from 100 Girlfriends, and Carole, Niina and Bon Ivar from Heaven Burns Red to my fictional character hall of fame.
Many of them had already been there previously, but were bullied out by a lack of room or the repetitiveness of their names. Now there's room enough for everyone. Shina and Meru are relatively new girlfriends in the manga and thus hadn't had a chance until now.
Carole, Niina and Bon Ivar aren't the greatest of Heaven girls, but all three of them have shown remarkable courage, self-sacrifice and caring on the battlefield and off. All three are gorgeous, though of course the supermodel Niina takes the cake. Carole got Judgement Day as her song, Bon Ivar got Back from the Brink, and Niina got Sayonara no Sokoudou. They're Heaven girls so they all got Heaven themes. Sayonara no Sokoudou was promoted to 3-star to qualify as a theme song (a well deserved promotion), demoting a Tchaikovsky piece to make room.
Roland got Final Boss II: Fate of the Chosen. Hitomi got Last Battle (Xenosaga 1). Makoto got we've got to believe in something. Aya got The Crestlands. Koharu got Zarathustra. Shina got The Leaflands. Meru got The Final Battle (FF 9). Meru's eyes of black-hole light sucking darkness and despair for this world fits The Final Battle of FF9 perfectly. Shina's bunny-like nature fits in to The Leaflands theme perfectly. Actually, all the songs are fitting, which is why I chose those songs for them.
Because my priority was finding fitting songs, not unused 5-star vocal songs, I still have 6 unused 5-star vocal themes without an owner. Well, maybe someday.
Humorously, I now have exactly 101 wonderful fictional characters who aren't covered in '100 Waifus,' which is the exact same size as a theoretical 11th generation of children could take care of. But I'm done writing '100 Waifus' so the opportunity will silently sail by untaken. Nothing against the book, it's just that I've already said everything that is possible to say in it, anything further would be boring and pointless to reader and writer alike.
All these characters are from works I've already honored in various other Halls of Fame, I haven't had to stretch my wings at all. Rather than diluting the quality of my referenced characters, it more feels like I'm scooping up gold from a river effortlessly, there's still so much good material laying around.
I've listened to all my new Heaven Burns Red music 100 times, so now I can move on to my newly constructed Wonderful playlist and enjoy the fruits of this week's labor.
