Shiunji-ke no Kodomotachi: I'm all for step-sister incest, but there's a bigger problem with this show -- it doesn't answer obvious questions. Like, "where is the mother?" "why did they decide to adopt instead of have natural children?" "why did they decide to adopt twins?" "why, in a mansion, isn't there a designated boys bath and girls' bath, when clearly the place could afford to have multiple baths?" "Why would he not think a girl is in the bath when her taken off clothes are there in the anteroom?" "How is it not a crime to sick a Doberman Pincher on your brother?" When you don't answer the questions that need answers, it leads me to believe the author actually has no answers, and doesn't know what he's doing. It feels like I could write this story better for him. At least I would have relevant explanations for everything. Fail.
Gundam GQuuuuuuX: Gundam has a long and illustrious history. For my part, I've considered some of the seasons good, most bad, in a lukewarm relationship. This particular season seems to be on the good side. It appears to be a 'what if?' timeline where Zeon won the original war instead of Earth. All sorts of other facts are also different. But whatever. Everybody likes Char Aznable, and the new main heroines are pretty, so let's go. Pass.
Me and the Alien Mu: I'm tired of inconsiderate people, even if they are cat aliens. Destroying someone's property, not learning from that mistake, and then destroying more of their property, then not apologizing for it, is unforgivable. I'm also tired of shy heroines. It's so overused. Fail.
Moonrise: This show has a high budget, so I wanted to like it. But there was nothing there. A bunch of action scenes for no known reason, thus completely meaningless. Followed by some dumb family drama about rich people acting like cads. Followed by a giant explosion with lots of flashy mayhem, again for no known reason. Then finally the first explanation of what's going on in the series at the end of the ep, where some dude declares a rebellion -- except no explanation is given for the rebellion, unlike America's declaration of independence. Just rebellion for rebellion's sake, I guess. Fail.
Ninja to Kurosiya: The problem when you treat life and death as a big joke is it kind of makes life meaningless. If killing and dying is no big deal, then nothing inbetween is a big deal either, which means nothing that happens at all is worth relating. Fail.
Teogonia: What a boring waste of time. They spent half the ep setting up this new fantasy world, then admit it was a normal isekai story all along. Then why waste all that time with the setup? Then the rest of the ep is wasted with a boy fighting an orc where neither side secures the kill like complete idiots. Fail.
mono: This is no Tamayura. Fail.
Food for the soul: There's nothing offensive about this series, but it feels like empty calories. Cute girls gather together to eat food. The generic shy heroine finds it hard to get along with others. Gags prevail over common sense. I've already watched Koufuku Graffiti. What does this show have to uniquely offer? Why am I watching it? Fail.
That's everybody, so the spring season looks like this, in terms of what I'm most looking forward to each week:
