Master Mission Cleared:

Heaven Burns Red released a touching new event talking about how Erika and Byakko first bonded and became friends.  It really pierced the heart.  However, like all events, the short story was easily conquered in a couple hours.  I also defeated the one remaining anachrony I needed to beat, the Crimson Vertex I failed to beat two weeks ago, which completed my master mission as a whole.  The trick to beating it was to stock up on SP and overdrive meter before engaging with the boss.  You can get to overdrive level 3, use it to double your SP, and then get back to overdrive 3 again, if you fight the underlings long enough using normal attack only.  Then level all that offense onto the Vertex the moment it looks at you funny and victory can be had under the turn limit.

I also got all the tears of fire I needed from the oubliette, beat the latest score challenge, completed my flashback battle power training event (which offers extra rewards for doing up to 100 flashback battles), and was lucky enough to recruit two new SS memorias -- Yuki's meteor shower memoria and Yuina's saint smite memoria.  My next skill evolution target is Yuki's meteor shower.  I already got the difficult item from the clock tower, so now it's just waiting a couple weeks for enough anachrony nordstrom crystals to drop.

There are basically only two challenges left in the game I can't handle -- the clock tower on hell mode and the orb boss III that uses ice.  I have a long term plan that will eventually conquer the orb boss, but the clock tower seems permanently impossible.  Oh well, I got everything I needed from the clock tower on normal mode.

I really do love all the events that keep coming out, but it's been like three months since the Megumi departure cliffhanger so I wish they'd continue the main story already.  I've been so happily maxing out my characters that by the time the story continues I'll be way overpowered compared to it.

In a surprising turn of events, new episodes of Re:Zero and DanMachi suddenly appeared, enriching the winter season which was starting to look pretty sparse.  Medalist is a surprise hit, but mostly this season was a dud.  DanMachi, Arifureta and Re:Zero coming back to air the rest of their material has been a shot in the arm.

I'm beginning to think the Kenshin Remake anime won't have enough eps to cover the entirety of the Shishio arc.  Which begs the question of what they're going to do once the current run ends.  I guess we'll find out soon.

I downloaded the Metaphor Refantazio ost and have been happily listening to it for the designated 100 times so that it can enter my music hall of fame.  After narrowing the songs down to 20 I can fit them all in just by ditching Valkyrie Profile, something I've been wanting to do anyway.  After I've listened to Metaphor I can get to work on the Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest ost.
