It's as I feared:

Dynasty Warriors Origins covers the first half of Romance of the Three Kingdoms in great detail, up until the battle of Chi Bi.  But it chooses that climactic moment to cut off.  The game would have been too large if it had gone any further, so I understand from a developer's perspective why they had to release the game unfinished.  It's the same as Final Fantasy 7 Remake, sometimes games are so grand and ambitious they have to be sold in installments just to pay the bills.

It's likely that a sequel will be greenlit eventually, once the sales of Origins crosses a certain threshold.  Until then we'll just have to wait to see the rest of the tale.  The same situation FF7 is in.

This was the hardest DW I've ever played.  It was common to lose multiple times before winning in every single stage.  The only saving grace is a new feature added for this game, which lets you load from a checkpoint midway through the battle instead of having to start over from the very beginning.  This means you don't have to redo the things you've already done right, but can start immediately from where things went wrong instead.  I want that feature for every single game.  I hate wasting time redoing content I've already mastered.  But there was one fight I couldn't beat no matter how many times I loaded -- the duel with Lu Bu.  I batted my head against the wall of Lu Bu for around ten hours before giving up in disgust and switching the difficulty down to 'easy' so that I could win and move on to see the rest of the plot.

I get that Lu Bu is strong, but to make him that strong is insane and stops being fun.  The game was well balanced in every other fight, where if I played well I could win, even if it took many tries.  But it didn't matter how well I played against Lu Bu.  The result was always the same.  I'd lose regardless.  That one fight sours me on the game as a whole.  I'd say, between Lu Bu being too hard and the game only covering half the actual story, this is the worst DW I've played.  DW is such a good franchise that 'the worst' is still a great game, but I wouldn't advise anyone play it if they still haven't played DW 7 or DW 8 or DW 9, which does a much better job at conveying the whole story and featuring all the characters from the book.

I have 25 SS Memoria in Heaven Burns Red, but only 21 unique characters with SS Memoria.  (You can't add two of the same person to the same squad, so basically I only have 21 SS Memoria.)  But even that is too large a pool.  Realistically I only have 10 playable characters, the SS Memoria who have had at least 1 limit break and reversion, giving them the extra skill slot and inspiring spark (3 sp regeneration per turn instead of 2 sp).  Against Anachronies you can field a full slate of 12 characters so I'd really like to get that number to at least 12.  After that it becomes less a matter of gaining power and more about collecting for collecting's sake.  But at least until I hit that 12 number I still have plenty left to do in Heaven, a much better game than DW Origins.
