Crossover:

There are now more songs in my music hall of fame which have crossed the 'prove yourself' threshold of 100 playthroughs than have not.  2743 finished songs, 2742 unfinished.  A fine moment to commemorate!

I'm closing in on the day of final victory.  The median song count of the unfinished cohort is now 87, so only 13 cycles left even for the minority remainder.  Another way of putting it is 13% of 50% which equals 6.5% of the overall project left to go.

Adding in new songs can slow this process down but it cannot stop the overall trend.  Once I've listened to all my songs 100 times I can fairly rate them 'great.'  Surely no one can argue that a song that can be enjoyed 100 times still isn't good enough to merit the moniker?  They'll truly belong to the music hall of fame then.

And after every song being given a fair hearing, I can fairly compare them against each other.  The next phase of the project is to rank every song in my rankings from 1-5.  A rank 1 song will be worth 1 point, a rank 2 song 2 points, a rank 3 song 4 points, a rank 4 song 8 points, and a rank 5 song 16 points.  I'll divide my hall of fame into 5 equally sized ranks, grading the songs on a curve, because it's more accurate and less subjective that way.  It's impossible to quantize how good a song is, but it is possible to say that x is better than y which is better than z.  In this manner a mathematically defined level of worth to each song gradually becomes clear.

Then adding all those songs together which each composer is responsible for can make clear how great that composer was compared to all other composers as well.  At last we'll have not only a music hall of fame, but a properly scored musician hall of fame too.

My current music hall of fame simply lists the number of songs I think are good (there's no proof because they haven't all passed the 100 playthrough threshold), the quantity each composer is responsible for and the song titles.  The next generation music hall of fame will all be proven masterpieces, the quality of each song will be defined and listed, and the quality of a composer that takes into account both the quality and quantity of their works will be listed in that new and better points-based order.  It will be an unparalleled resource for future generations desirous of the best music and musicians to listen to, an answer to where they should turn their ear so precise that they can collect not just the best composer, say, Nobuo Uematsu, but only the finest 5 star ranked songs of the best composer.  Such fine details will all be possible soon. (Though by soon I still mean a year from now)

Zettai Karen Children will also be ending soon (probably also a year from now.)  It's not much use to us though because the translation is hopelessly far behind.  Maybe someday.  It looked like we would get to see the translated ending to Kitakubu but then the scanlation suddenly stopped short of the goal.  This sort of thing happens all the time with the fansub community.  You never know when or if anything good will happen.

Dragon Quest 12 has officially been announced but it's been in production since long ago, this isn't really news.  I'm of course looking forward to it after how amazing 11 was.

I've finished my Fate/stay night and Fate/UBW rewatches.  Fate/stay night is a hopelessly inferior product, but I will at least say this in its defense -- I prefer its character designs.  UBW gives everyone weird almost non-existent noses.  Stay Night actually looks like the characters in the visual novel.  In any event, Fate is a good enough franchise that even being the runt of the litter still qualifies you as great.  I figure I've come this far so I may as well rewatch Fate/zero while I'm at it.  Then I'll be up to speed with the entire main storyline, from Zero to Ataraxia.
