Yoimonogatari Read:

The second half of Yoimonogatari arrived in 'late June' as promised.  Apparently the translator didn't like it and doesn't want to translate more of the series, but I certainly did.  I thought it was a wonderful mystery full of humor and human interest.  I'm not a fan of the constant self-loathing Araragi, Nadeko and others go through so I tend to filter them out of the novels like they never even happened.  The fact that Nadeko got an appearance at the end was a great bonus.  It looks like Amarimonogatari (volume 25) will at least half be about her too, so the Nadeko lovefest continues.  That is, if the world can find a new translator that actually likes the books to step in.

Light novel June continues with Imouto sae Ireba Ii 10 on the 29th.  I've already preordered it and am waiting happily for the day not far from now to arrive.  It's hard to believe how many great books have come out this month, and even in July, on the 7th, there's the next Hai to Gensou no Grimgar to look forward to, which I've also preordered.  Light novels have been the only bright spot of the year so far.

I've completed four of the eight paths in Octopath and unlocked all but the starseer secondary job classes.  I was only barely strong enough to tackle the archmage class boss, so even though I only started getting the new classes now, it's hard to say I started too late.  If I'd tried any earlier I probably would've failed anyway.   Plus the game was fun playing with the normal classes so it's not like I missed out.  I'll use these special classes to finish off the last four paths and get the best of both worlds.
