Sailor Moon Eternal is of course great:

Sailor Moon Eternal is one of the main reasons the franchise is #46 in my top anime rankings.  This is the best animated, highest quality, and totally true to the manga Sailor Moon ever.  This is the best Sailor Moon's ever been.

The artistry of this series is so high.  It isn't only that the Sailors are beautiful (go figure, they're 'bishoujo senshi'), it's the poses they take that really elevates the aesthetics.  Everyone laughs at the crazy poses shown in Jojo's, but imagine instead someone who imagines the most beautiful pose a woman could take at any given moment, and then animating that:  That is Sailor Moon Eternal.  Like one long figure skate.  Now imagine scenes where 10 different characters are shown at once and all ten are in the best pose imaginable that best express their individual glory.  This is as well coordinated as a Love Live! dance, but for two movies long!

The plot is extremely simple and pure.  Evil is making people's bodies sick and leading their minds astray.  It's up to the good of heart to overcome their afflictions and hold on to what they know is right.  What isn't simple is the amazing and fluid contortions of the Circus Quartet who have human bodies but move like water.  What isn't simple is Minako's awesome fashion sense and audition dress.  What isn't simple is the gorgeously expressive transformation scenes of every single inner and outer planet Sailor.  It's almost like this could have been a silent movie.  It could have expressed itself through sheer visuals alone.  But of course that would have been a terrible waste because some of the voice acting in these movies is so good it'll bring you to tears.  They may be saying simple things, but the feelings expressed by how they intonate their words are as deep as the Pacific Ocean.

Sailor Moon would go higher in my rankings if they announced a Season 5.  Boy does it need one.  As it is, because Sailor Moon Eternal ultimately is only two short movies of content long, it can't keep up with real shows like Shadows House or Edens Zero in my 'best of 2021' rankings.  Give Sailor Moon the length it deserves and it wouldn't lose to anyone.
