New Dragon Ball Super movie announced:

This doesn't appear to adapt the Super manga.  Instead, it's also written by Toriyama and thus canon, about something completely else, currently wrapped in mystery.  Almost everything Toriyama has done with Dragon Ball has been brilliant so I have high expectations for this movie as well.  The movie will be released in Japan in 2022 so in America that's 2023.  Whew a long wait.

Meanwhile, [Judas] is making progress with the Bleach bluray fansub.  We're now up to episode 279.  Of course, so many episodes are filler that it isn't really the 279th episode, it's actually episode 156, but whatever, progress is progress.  Only 48 canon episodes left to blu-ray-ify.  Judas is an excellent encoder so switching to bluray actually reduces the filesize which is nice for archival purposes.  Hopefully the whole series will be out in blu-ray before the next season begins.  It's good to clear the desk before new work arrives.

UQ Holder is ending in 9 chapters, but it's a monthly series so that actually means in 2022.  Still a ways to go, but it will be great when it happens.  UQ Holder had a weak start but once it returned to the plot of Negima and the fight with Ialda Boath it became magnificent.  Easily as good as the original, which is saying a lot.  UQ Holder and Negima are one single manga, and together they're the best value added manga of all time.  Somehow the anime to both was mainly filler so essentially it has no anime adaption.  That's fine though, the art is so good that enjoying the series as a manga works fine.

Nothing is truly great until it is finished.  The greatest manga ever needs to reach its ending so that its worth is set in concrete forever and passed down through the generations.  I'm glad Ken Akamatsu is getting the job done before he dies or his fans die of old age.  Maybe he'll be an inspiration to others.  Like, say, Akira Toriyama. . .

I'm making progress in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, but there are so many sidequests that it sure doesn't feel like it.  I've already passed the 100 hour mark and it feels like I could end up passing the 200 hour mark, there's so much to do and it's all so difficult and confusing a grind.  I guess that's bang for your buck right there.  The plot is actually really good, I love what they did with Nia, but I rarely get to play the actual plot because there's always another sidequest.
