Sen no Hatou, Tsukisome no Kouki is a great visual novel:

I've finished the first route (Hotori's) in this visual novel, so I think I've gained the right to announce it is indeed a great visual novel (rated #16 in my hall of fame) with three new accompanying wonderful characters -- Kotone, Akari and Elsa.  They take the place of The Emperor's Son trio, following the rule that 'when possible self-promotion should be replaced with some other artist's promotion, in order to avoid the appearance of bias.'

Kotone is short and has twintails.  She's both valiant and cute.  As a priestess, it's an ingrained instinct for her to serve, to be of service to others, and I think that's really what girls should aim for.  Kotone does it so well too.  Her magic powers are of course helpful, but I think she also has a way of putting people at ease around her.  A comforting presence.

Akari is also valiant.  As the daughter-heir to the fallen Empire, she seeks to avenge her mother and restore the throne to its rightful holder.  She's beautiful with her long flowing pink hair and revealing combat dress bedecked with jewels.  She reminds me of one of the many noble samurai girls from Majikoi and would fit in with them well.  I also like her sharp tongue and dislike of nonsense/pretense.

Elsa is an interesting figure because she works for the oppressive Republic instead of the oppressed Empire like everybody else.  But as a member of the Republic, she seeks what is best for the Empire as well, by extending the Republic's justice to include the Empire.  She's intent on squelching rebellion against the Republic, but she's also intent on squelching corruption within the Republic.  It would be okay if someone like her conquered your country, and she has a point that peace would be more possible through obeying her than through terrorism.  She reminds me a lot of Euphemia.  It also helps that she's blonde-haired and blue-eyed, with a snappy red military uniform.

The setting is very similar to Code Geass, so it isn't surprising that Elsa is like Euphemia.  Akari is like Kallen.  I guess there's no real parallel for Kotone, though.

Charlie Kirk was assassinated by a homosexual with a transgender lover.  He ascribed to the Antifa ideology that the sin of 'hate' (i.e. intolerance) should be punishable by death, and acted upon his beliefs.  He engraved on his bullet 'Catch, fascist!' to make his point very clear.  He sent a long text conversation to his transgender lover confessing his crime and the reason for his crime: 'some hate can't be negotiated with.'  In addition to the confession we have DNA evidence that he was the culprit.  The murder weapon found on the scene belongs to him.  The case is open and shut.  We know who did it and why.  It's extremely tiresome for the left to keep insisting, in bad faith, because anyone who looks into the case would instantly realize this was a leftist terror attack, that somehow this is a right-wing shooter.  It's equally tiresome that antisemites keep insisting that the homosexual didn't do it and actually a sinister Israeli sniper killed Charlie Kirk from some other rooftop still hidden in the shadows.  It's absurd and ridiculous.  Everything was captured on tape.  We caught the lone gunman.  He confessed.  There's nothing more to it.  This event is the most clearcut event in history, and yet still people try to spin it to be something else.  This isn't how honest thinking or debate occurs.  People must at least agree upon basic facts and reality before having the right to an opinion on a matter.

The fact that so many people who style themselves great thinkers deserving of having their opinion heard on matters of import fail this basic test -- are they honest enough to admit the basic facts of this open and shut case -- implies a sort of derangement in opinion writers and those who listen to them.  The only person who comes out of this looking sane is Steve Sailer.  Everyone else, on both the left and the far right, is either an idiot who falls for obvious lies or an evil liar.  That's how bad this Charlie Kirk reaction has been.

It's also ridiculous to say free speech is under attack when free speech has never included the right to incite violence or defame others.  It's defamation to say a right-winger did it when a left-winger did it, it defames all right-wingers, harming their reputation using a brazen lie.  Of course we can punish people for that.  And for all the people who celebrated Charlie Kirk's death and morally justified it, obviously they're inciting violence by encouraging future assassins to take out additional right-wing famous figures.  Saying free speech is under threat because blah blah blah is so stupid.  If free speech is the right to defame others and incite assassinations then it obviously needs to be 'threatened,' because it's evil.  But what normal people think of as free speech, the right to tell the truth and encourage peaceful change through elections, was not threatened by the reaction to Charlie Kirk's shooting, it was threatened by Charlie Kirk's shooting.  What we should be alarmed about is that people can't go onto a college campus and make the normal case to vote Republican to college students who gather to hear said case.  What we need to do is crack down on assassinations trying to stifle peaceful, honest debate.  Instead the 'alt-right' is up in arms about defending the rights of people to call for more such assassinations.  The alt-right is so fanatical about free speech that it desires the termination of all free speakers.  Only then will speech truly be free.  You may as well define shooting people for political reasons as just another form of 'speech.'  Since the homosexual was trying to make a point, that too should be covered by the 1st amendment, right?  I guess so according to the alt-right.

It's a shame that the only people with common sense - me and Steve Sailer -- are either too censored to say anything or behind a paywall so nobody can hear.  This is how malarkey dominates the discourse.  Good job, Blogger, you really chose the right person to silence.

Meanwhile, I spent $67 in Heaven Burns Red to get a few more things.  The paid quartz will be useful later, so it's hard to say if I got my money's worth.  But for now I got 2 Protean Shards, the Catnip skill for Sumomo, tuxedo Ruka's level 1 limit break, and an eternal daphne for swimsuit Yuina.  I also got enough miracle bells to give Yuina 5 reversions, which opens up a new skill slot for her.  Swimsuit Yuina should be a formidable presence going forward with all those powerups, and she's usable in both my light and dark squad, so the gesture isn't empty.

The Catnip skill is actually the most important acquisition, though.  With it Sumomo can raise her thunder attack skill and provoke enemies for the low price of 5 sp.  This allows her to use electro slash at half price, 7 sp instead of 14 sp (the ability costs half as much if the enemy is provoked.)  Previously I had to have a defender with a provoke skill in my thunder squad so that Sumomo could fight with this discount, but now Sumomo can provoke enemies herself.  That frees up a whole squad slot for my thunder squad, which goddess Yingxia can happily fill.  A squad slot is worth a lot more to me than a skill slot.
