I already liked Ayane due to W Wish, but this Higurashi Sotsu opening theme is marvelous. This is her second hall of fame song, but I could have added a lot more Ayane Higurashi music, like Frustration. I held myself back because I'd really like to concentrate on finishing my 100 playthroughs of my old music before I pile on more.
Inevitably I will add more music in, but whenever possible I should refrain. So for now just the planned song, Analogy, will do. This gets me back up to 5516 in all. The full version is finally released and available, it's a great song so I encourage everyone to use nyaa.si to download it.
This song is so Higurashi. Somehow the mood of the series is carried perfectly by her voice, her desperation but also determination. There's something optimistic about Higurashi. No matter how bad things get, if you think it out and don't give up you can still come out on top. This song carries that exact mood from start to finish.
I'm pretty happy with the blonde, blue-eyed Russian girls beating our black muscle-bound 'mentally ill' gymnasts for the gold. It warmed my Nazi heart. (Though I guess Russia wouldn't appreciate that sentiment much, given that the Nazis killed 20 million of them. . .)
The Chinese and Japanese gymnasts were also beautiful, though they weren't scored highly. The phoenix leotard wearing Chinese should have been given straight 10's as far as I'm concerned, they won the competition the moment they walked into the building.
Sadly, the Olympics will end soon. But there are some nice things to look forward to next. The Suicide Squad comes out in a week. All the reviews are positive and Harley Quinn is always great to watch. College Football resumes soon. A batch of additional light novels will be coming out in October/November. The Wheel of Time tv show I've been anticipating for what must be decades now is finally coming out this November.
Looking further out, almost right after this Olympics ends, the Beijing Winter Olympics will begin. And soon after that will be the Qatar World Cup. It's going to be an extremely festive 2022. Between those two events there's still March Madness, the college football bowl games, the NFL playoffs, etc.
New Game is ending in a month, but it will probably be translated in 2022. A lot of manga projects are looking like that. It hurts 2021 but it certainly helps out 2022.
In October Black Widow will be available for free with a Disney Plus account, so it will finally be worth subscribing then.
It really hurts that zero visual novels have been translated all year long. Aiyoku no Eustia is so important a work of art and for it to be left stranded like this, half translated, is agonizing. But at least Tales of Arise will finally come out this September. That's not long from now.
Supposedly the new Evangelion and BanG Dream! movies will be available with English subtitles soon too. Not to mention Yuuki Yuuna S3 this fall.
Even after the Olympics there's cause for celebration.
